Sooner or later, if someone lies enough to you, what they say becomes simply irrelevant. The point of a White House press office is communication, but if whoever is controlling it just says things that have no connection to reality, it serves no purpose to engage with it or report what comes out of it.
Rather, the media should focus exclusively on what is done - on commands, appointments, etc. There is an exception, of course, in that threats must be reported, but otherwise continuing to report an incessant stream of lies - even for the purposes of debunking them - merely serves to propagate them.
Journalists and news organizations should officially declare that the Trazi regime an unreliable source and that they will from now on treat its claims the same as unsubstantiated rumors or tabloid claims - totally insufficient as news in itself.
