Women paying for shit? That's sexist! Make the government take money (mostly from men) and that's equality or something.

And this right here is the problem. Men are the primary income earners and taxpayers, and women are the primary beneficiaries of the welfare state. Try being homeless as a man and see how much "welfare" you get.

Y'know... now that you mention it... I work in a major city.... in the...3-4 years I've been down there, I think I've only seen a single homeless female... the rest are dudes.

Don't forget men in the military.

I hear the real victims of war are the women, though.

I'm not disagreeing, but do you have a source I can show to other folks?

UK source.

US government study (PDF).

Tidbits from the US study:

Adult men were heavily overrepresented in the homeless population. More than three-fifths of homeless adults were men (64.0 percent) compared to 48.7 percent of the overall population and only 39.9 percent of the poverty population. The large proportion of adult men in the shelter system probably reflected several factors. Single men who are poor may be more vulnerable to homelessness because of large gaps in the Unemployment Insurance program and because the largest safety net programs, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Social Security, are for families or elderly people.

Basically, if you're a homeless woman just pop out a baby and you'll be taken care of.

Thank you!

Please note that the US source only looks at men in shelters. If you look at men on the streets it's clear at least 90% are male, but there's been almost no research on these men (unlike in the UK). I would allege it's because no one cares about them.

For real, all they've done is create humans and birth them, which really isn't that big of a deal

It's only been done 100 billion times or so.

Terrible comparison. The frequency of something doesn't make it any easier. Next time you see a pregnant gal, go tell her that what she's dealing with has happened a bunch of times before, so it should be no problem for her

Next time you see a coal miner, tell him his job isn't really that tough - it's been done countless times before.

I'm sorry, but motherhood is of laughable difficulty compared to the dangerous jobs so many men do on a daily basis just to survive.

I didn't compare it to anything. Birthing a human has literally happened about 100 billion times.

So why did you say it? To to not make a point?

Yes of course, a woman who births the 100,000,000,001st child must be very brave to tread such uncharted waters.

I love Bill Burr, I listen to his podcast every week. But he just had his first kid. He's far down the list of people I'd seek an opinion from, on this subject anyways.

Using 'not enough benefits' argument while calling yourself an ancap... not even surprised.

I don't think anyone should be given benefits. I'm just pointing that the government treats people unequally. Yet another reason there shouldn't be one.

In New Zealand Women as a group pay no taxes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was like that in other western countries.

the closest that the average woman will come to having a positive fiscal incidence is when she is at minus $50,000 around 55 years of age.

Yeah, but men spread their legs on public transportation. Muh reparations!

And instead of being snarky and everyone mailing $50 donations to PP in Mike Pence's name, they should just do it in their own. If they did that, they'd never have to worry about federal oversight again.

Pay $150 once? A year? A month? And if they gave it once, for what period could they fund it?

1 year. A cursory Google search for PP yearly budget, and simple math could tell you that.
