  • She wants women to be banned from entering schools and college campuses.

  • She wants women banned from polling places on Election Day.

  • She wants you to pay a fee to the state before you carry a woman on your person.

  • She wants some women banned simply because they look too scary.

  • She wants women banned from all airports.

I actually agree with her...

In that I think full autos, short barrels, and silencers should not be regulated any different than any other guns, and gun-free zones should be eradicated.

I mean, a business should be able to declare themselves a gun-free zone. They're a free market enterprise and should be able to declare themselves a gun-free zone if they so please, as well as whatever a free zone as they please.

Government institutions are case by case (you don't want civilians carrying guns in the White House or courthouses) but most should be fine.

Public areas, no gun free zones.

Perhaps. But then again I already ignore all disarmament zones not enforced by metal detectors, so it's of little relevance to me.

I don't know, that seems pretty good to me.

Along with that... if a private enterprise declares themselves to be a gun free zone, they should then have taken responsibility for their patrons safety. As such... if something happens in which an armed citizen could have stopped it and the company refused to allow them such, and failed to protect them in lieu... they pay the price the same as anyone else who fails to responsibly keep those they are tasked with protecting safe (like parents or hospice workers etc etc).

If you feel unsafe at a "gun free zone" business, you don't need to patronize their business. It's really simple as that. Not every Domino's needs to have a tornado shelter. You take risks when you leave your house every day. Entering that business is a risk and if you don't want to take that risk, don't go.

Bad analogy I think... a business won't have a policy specifically preventing you from protecting yourself and your loved ones from tornadoes.

Another analogy/thought process for you... if you slip and fall in a business (or otherwise become hurt) because of negligence on their part, whether by happenstance or policy, they are legally responsible in a law suit you put against them. My previous comment simply falls in line with this same line of reasoning: if they have a policy that creates an unsafe environment and someone gets hurt/maimed/killed because of that policy they should be held responsible... even if it's a policy about guns.

She wants women to be banned from purchase by felons?

I think everyone is already banned from purchasing women, the problem is that it won't stop the criminals that want to obtain a women illegally from doing so!

Yes, this person is stupid.

However, the overwhelming majority of people marching yesterday would not agree with this sign. I certainly don't.

What would they agree with? Why were they 'marching'?

Many of them actually agree with Libertarian ideology and were marching to protect their civil liberties to do acts such as burning the American flag or having an abortion in their own state. Note that they weren't asking for either of these things to be done with government money -- the majority just want them to be legal to do in the first place.

If that's what many of the marchers were marching for it's unfortunate that none of the speakers were able to articulate those as central themes.

I believe that Trump is every bit the statist that HRC would have been and equally as terrible/dangerous as her, just in somewhat different directions, however this protest was a muddled mess in terms of communicating any coherent message.

I've yet to get an answer otter then women's rights is what Saturday was about from my friends.. Like, thanks that clears it up.

It can't get more specific because they don't know what the specifics are. Who could name a right that men have that women don't? The only answer you could get would be something about the mythical wage gap, or else something about abortions being taken away... In which case perhaps they should have held a pro-choice rally instead of the nebulous protests they had that evidently no one understood.

Some would say they were "marching for women's rights around the globe". Yet, one of the organizers is pro-Sharia Law (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=275_1485108178&comments=1)

And this mantra of "women are oppressed in America" is beyond absurd. Unless you think "oppression" means you must take responsibility for your own actions (such as, birth control).

They protest the idea of defunding Planned Parenthood (by revoking tax payer dollars from their subsidies). - http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/participants-in-seattle-womens-march-say-next-step-is-political-action/ ; http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2017/01/23/womens-march-organizer-were-going-to-make-sure-trump-follows-through/

Sadly it's more than one stupid person... This is the 3rd picture of a person (all different people) holding a variant of this sign that I have seen, and I haven't been seeking them out.

She wants to be locked in a safe, on the chance that children (who don't live there and have no right to be there) might break into the house and steal her.

I genuinely don't understand what rights women think they currently do not have. The 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920. The Equal Pay Act was passed in 1963. If I thought women were being treated unequally under the law I would march too, but I don't get it.

They want 3rd term abortions, birth control coverage as a requirement in ACA, and pro women discrimination in the work force.
-- Regarding the first one, I think abortions should be legal through 4-5 months (though personally I could never do it) but this is straight murder.
-- Regarding birth control, I haven't heard any men complaining about their condoms not being covered.
-- And for non equal pay, just fuck off. Far more often than not, women win the the tie breaker for a promotion/raise just because of their gender. The same for non-asian minorities. Just look at Silicon Valley going completely out of their way to hire under qualified minorities because people were complaining about the lack of non-white/non-asian diversity. Take a look at the ethnic breakdown of the top CS students, then tell me that hiring mostly Asians and whites is racist...

She knew enough people would think it's a "clever" sign, I've seen it a couple of times on social media

[–]alpha_tango_victor 3 ポイント4 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Yes, she spent a lot of time trying to come up with a sign that she thought was clever enough to get shared on social media. It's not a factual or intelligent sign, but the it'll fire up the sheeple masses on her side.

I want to believe this about the free tampons one too. Like she just thought of the most ridiculous sign that most women would not call her out on and succeeded.

[–]alpha_tango_victor 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

I see some ridiculous shit shared on Facebook, sometimes by people who I assumed are reasonably intelligent. I often ask myself if they actually believe the nonsense or if they're just trying to get the attention of the ignorant.

She thinks with her heart and not a brain. There is not much of a difference between her and most people at these rallies.

I do know that a couple friends, whose intelligence I respect and with whom I can agree to disagree, who were at rallies. Also, my wife's friend who works as a researcher at CERN was at one. So there are exceptions.
