This thread has been locked because of personal information and racism.

People are posting 4chan links to supposed images of the suspects and the rape in progress. They are also naming the alleged suspects and guessing at their religious backgrounds, despite the police publicizing only the birth dates of the victim and suspects.

Here at /r/news we take personal information very seriously because of the events of the Boston bombing. As such, we will remove all names, photos, etc of victims and suspects until such time as they have been identified by official sources AND publicized.

Unfortunately, the comments relating to personal information have gotten so out of hand that we are locking the thread. We've seen what happens when reddit witch-hunts run unchecked and we aren't going to let it happen again.

Why are people live streaming crimes on Facebook? This seems like the dumbest idea possible.

And yet I am okay with people broadcasting their crimes on social media. It makes so them so much easier to prosecute.

I'm not opposed to it from a crime fighting perspective but it does seem supremely dumb

While interning at a public defender's office I have learned that criminals typically aren't as smart as they appear on tv.

They're dumb enough to basically turn themselves in by documenting the crime, but let's not pretend there's no harm in publicly exposing the victim for thousands to rubberneck.

Except there's a victim involved that deserves some privacy

Only if they were going to commit the crime in the first place though. I do have to wonder if there's some chance that people would commit crimes for the sole purpose of streaming it. Or if streaming it and that making news possibly results in an increase in that kind of crime.

Honestly I'd rather get raped in private than on the nternet where it never goes away tyvm

I get this. If I was raped and tortured on camera I'd rather make sure the people or individual get the maximum sentence then have them get away with it as so many who rape/commit sexual assault are prone to do. But at the same time anyone who showed the video to my son would probably cause me or his mom to go to jail for doing something excessive.

According to this it was not this groups first arrest , source here it is poorly translated and does not make sense but it sounds like they live streamed making some kind of threats towards a group of school kids?

It basically said that other people in the same Facebook group had been arrested earlier for livestreaming themselves making death threats towards someone in their school.

"Why are people live streaming crimes on Facebook?"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychopathy

The triarchic model, formulated by Christopher J. Patrick et al., suggests that different conceptions of psychopathy emphasize three observable characteristics to varying degrees. Analyses have been made with respect to the applicability of measurement tools such as the Psychopathy Checklist (PCL, PCL-R) and Psychopathic Personality Inventory (PPI) to this model.[1][2]

Boldness. Low fear including stress-tolerance, toleration of unfamiliarity and danger, and high self-confidence and social assertiveness. The PCL-R measures this relatively poorly and mainly through Facet 1 of Factor 1. Similar to PPI Fearless dominance. May correspond to differences in the amygdala and other neurological systems associated with fear.[1][2] Psychopaths are notorious for their lack of fear.[13]

Disinhibition. Poor impulse control including problems with planning and foresight, lacking affect and urge control, demand for immediate gratification, and poor behavioral restraints. Similar to PCL-R Factor 2 and PPI Impulsive antisociality. May correspond to impairments in frontal lobe systems that are involved in such control.[1][2]

Meanness. Lacking empathy and close attachments with others, disdain of close attachments, use of cruelty to gain empowerment, exploitative tendencies, defiance of authority, and destructive excitement seeking. The PCL-R in general is related to this but in particular some elements in Factor 1. Similar to PPI Coldheartedness but also includes elements of subscales in Impulsive antisociality.[1][2]

Took the liberty to translate (google translate plus minor fixup) the OP in a thread about this on a Swedish message board. I won't link there because they're a bit more relaxed about witch-hunting and has plenty of personal information about the perp(s), I don't feel like being banned today.

Probably one of the sickest things in a long time.. Got up earlier and found a livestream in a large facebook group where people write about someone being raped. The dude who's broadcasting tries to explain what has happened and it becomes clear that he has streamed when one or multiple people have had sex with a passed out girl during the night.

The girl is sitting there and talking on the stream but is totally numbed and stoned, doesn't know her name or anything. He tries to persuade her to say that she haven't been raped, etc. You hear the girl say that she didn't want to have sex and that she doesn't remember anything but the idiot more or less tells her what she should say.

A female stranger [I assume from the stream, idk] gets the number to the girl and calls and talks to her during the broadcast, and this girl (who did a very good job) gets the victim to understand that she had been raped.

The disgusting jerk just sits and laughs constantly and think everything is a blast. Until the police literary show up in the stream. The policeman doesn't see the mobile and stands right in view and speak with the girl for a while. You hear other officers speaking solemnly in the background but is not clear what is said.

Police sees the phone, take it, and the stream stopped.

Was surprised how quickly the police actually got there .. Hope they make a proper investigation and the prep(s) gets hefty penalties.

Sick fucking thing, and the retarded streamer doesn't even understand that it's rape to fuck someone who has passed out...

While I agree these guys are assholes, and sadly am not surprised to see it's not Johan Johansson or Sven Svensson commiting the crime, this rule has been around in Sweden since forever.

Dude, it's /r/news

Why is there so much censorship? What good does that do?

Progressives think they can control the message, they don't think that we, the people, have enough means of communicating with each other to avoid their control. What it does instead is highlight the fact that women are raped at incredibly high rates by immigrants.

It should be noted that the thread on r/sweden is being heavily censored because of "racism".

Geez and we are surprised that locals aren't to keen on foreigners. In the Netherlands you are 5 times as likely to be raped by a non local of a specific minority then a Dutch. That while they only represent 20% of the population. It's not really a surprise that parties like Wilders and Le Pen gain massive popularity while the rest of the political world prefers to ignore or put it on racism.

Proper fuckery going on with the comments being deleted in here, if you look through my post history (I did in private broswer) all my comments are there, but they don't seem to appear in thread.

I'm not familiar with the policies of comments being deleted; as apart from a post removed and a (righteous) week ban for shitposting in r/history comments I've never had one deleted to my knowledge, but I don't think it is usual for shadow deleting of comments without notifying the poster is it?

It also looks like I've had a comment deleted that broke no rules (unless it is against the rules to explain site rules and call mods tinpot dictators?)

Shit, I wonder if this comment will even show.

Just got home from Sweden.. it was even worse than I expected. They're in the midst of a silent invasion. You could feel the hostility of the invaders too. I watched a changing of the guard ceremony and there were a bunch of jeering North Africans taunting the soldiers. They have no respect for the culture that gives them so much opportunity. Rather than having gratitude it just gives them bloodlust seeing that it's all up for grabs.

This is NOT going to get better as their percentage of the population increases.

Censorship on Reddit is getting out of hand. It's getting to the point where stories or comment threads are so redacted that they don't make sense.

You can be liberal yet also have common sense to NOT want to open the flood gates to all sorts of Syrian refugees. I mean, there are dozens of perfectly fine non-US-"infidel" countries for them to flee to. Honestly.

That's Bill Maher's opinion.

Honestly more than 50% of liberals want nothing to do with Syrian refugees. It's only the young college crowd or younger who want to seem like Jesus, while ignoring grim reality.

But you're absolutely right. I voted for Hillary but hated her stance on the Syrian issue. It was a very stupid decision. It likely lost her WI/ MI/ Pensylvania just like the globalist stance.

Liberal party needs to reorganize. The extreme fringes of the group cannot run the party like the Tea Party did the Right ...

This happened in my hometown in Sweden, actually even in my neighbourhood. These kinds of crimes are so common now that the police are now completely silent about the perpetrators (you guess it, they were immigrants) - because our politicians have told police it contributes to racism if they release that information. It's funny because everybody still knows who are committing these types of gang rapes, just nobody is allowed to state that information publicly, as doing so will get you racist-shamed in an instant. We have a very healthy climate in this country...

Their plans to reduce racism will backfire as well. By not telling people who criminals are people will now assume any crime is the result of an immigrant. So it'll over-inflate the public's feeling about who is committing crimes when the reality may be different.

And if it is in fact the case that most crimes are being committed by immigrants then the public's safety should be more important than hurting peoples feelings. The whole point of letting people know of crimes is so they can do something to minimize their risk. Hiding this information defeats the purpose of telling the public in the first place.

Racism will increase and the public is more in the dark as to what is going on in their communities. The Swedish authorities really need a smack across the head in this regard.

Dont bag all the swedes in one bag, the country is very divided at the moment and the sweden democrats are currently the second largest party in the country. Thats about 20-25% of the votes, and even still a lot of people are very aware of the immigration issues but dont want to vote for SD because they're just a stupid party outside of everything immigration related.

Wish all of you the best. The very few Swedes Ive met are the nicest people. Maybe your national gregarious attitude got you into this situation?

It's a scary thing, I mean it's a noble thing to want to reduce racism, but leaving out details that are important to the story is not the way to go about it. It leads to a scenario where people feel the government is more concerned about making sure nobody's feelings are hurt as opposed to actually preventing rapes.

2nd gen ones are frequently the worst because they aren't integrated enough to not feel like an outcast in their new country but have no idea what hardships they left behind. Here's a crazy thought. Perhaps European counties shouldn't just let everyone in and maybe should do a better job identifying who is coming into the country. But instead you bring in refugees and economic migrants, the latter of which have no reason to be there. But hey, I'm just commenting from a country where the immigrants aren't raping citizens everyday so who am I to judge what system is clearly working better.
