Colbert gleefully ridicules ‘fashion star’ Kellyanne Conway’s ‘nutcracker who came to life’ inaugural wear
The internet was not the only source of mockery for Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway’s ill-advised inaugural look on Friday, with Late Show host Stephen Colbert joining in in the national “what was she thinking?” mockery.
Wearing a $3,600 Gucci wool red, white and blue coat with matching hat, Conway was the object of derision nationwide — with some comparing her look to the counter-help at Hotdog On A Stick.
CBS host Colbert was not above giving Conway some fashion advice on Friday night when he deconstructed the entire inauguration.
After ridiculing the absurd length of President Trump’s tie and Melania Trump’s “blue Ralph Lauren head transportation device” dress, Colbert turned to Conway.
“But, of course, the fashion star of the day was counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway,” Colbert began as Conway’s inaugural day picture was flashed on the screen and the audience laughed. “I would describe that look as ‘Nutcracker who came to life, but only got halfway there.'”
“If you looks closely, this is true, her buttons are actually little angry cat heads,” he smirked. “Very bold for her to wear pussies that close to the new president.”
