Context: I have a semi- active dating profile; I don't use it, but it's fun sometimes because I'm a mod so I see the shit people write each other. Getting some good book tips and conversations out of it, too.

Anway, an ex of mine finds me and writes. She's fun, I explain I'm not really looking to date, no problem for her. So we hang out sometimes, talk about old times, dreams and life. Now, keep in mind that when I say "hot babe 2", I'm being generous - it's been a long time and she hasn't been good to her body. But, we have a lot of things in common (not music, I'm talking family situations and such), and it's a pleasure. We go hiking, hang with friends, all good. I thought I made a friend. Friends are good.

Then one day she texts she has a suggestion. I didn't reply thinking that grand idea will be laid out real soon now. A few days pass, weeks, then a month. On New Years eve, I send a jovial and (I think) thoughtful Happy New Year message. I see that she reads it, but never even replies.

That much for unattractive women being immune to AWALT. At least with babes, you know you're getting something, even though you're overpaying. Keep that in mind, fellow men.
