Is there an epidemic of people named Emily and Cody from Wisconsin and Tennessee moving to NYC? This is a really specific group to be gatekeeping.

Also, is this Wisconsin and Tennessee respectively, or are there equal amounts of Emilys and Codys coming from both states?

Is Cody known as a redneck name or something

I think they're just white sounding names

Milwaukee is well known for its Italian restaurants, due to its high amount of Italian immigrant descendants that settled there. Also its amazing cheese. This makes no sense.

That's actually Neapolitan pizza

which is dope

CHILL THE FUCK OUT CODY

Don't get me wrong, i love the first pic, but it's street food. I wouldn't order the top one in a restaurant.

Yeah, i mean the first one is something you'd buy because you just wanted something quick and cheap that tastes alright, but generally speaking I'd prefer a neapolitan if I were to sit down with other and enjoy a proper meal.

Exactly, i wouldn't order pbr if im eating out at a restaurant, but ive had my fair share of those too.

Pretty sad when they gatekeep but aren't even familiar with what they're gatekeeping

Honestly the bottom pizza looks better

Hi Emily

NYC residents are under the horrifically mistaken idea that anyone envies their shitty food. It's just not what the city is known for. Maybe they were known for it many years ago, but many other places surpassed them.

NYC is still know for it's food. What other cities have better food?

Tokyo has more Michelin stars than any other city, and you'll find great food in Paris, Osaka, Hong Kong, London and loads of other big cities as well.

Everywhere has better something. NC/SC/Kansas City/Texas have various styles of BBQ that are going to be better at the local places. Maryland has better crabs. New Orleans has a few fairly unique offerings. I'm sure there are many more examples.

Do they know how to make proper pizza in Japan? Or is it like in China where it is absoutely horrible?

Well, the pizza in Japan can be a bit odd. But the other food available is really good!

[–]Hans_Klopeks_Beard 8 ポイント9 ポイント  (7子コメント)

Well for Pizza there's New Haven.

Non American here, I have heard about Boston pizza and New York pizza, never heard of New Haven.

I'm a NYer. New Haven pizza is a certainly a "thing'. Chicago too. But never heard of Boston!

Oh I meant Chicago lol, In the super market deep dish pizzas often say "Chicago style", sorry I got confused. I don't doubt New Haven pizza is a thing near New Haven I am just saying in the rest of the world is not really well know.

[–]Hans_Klopeks_Beard 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Most of the best Pizzas in the US actually come from Connecticut.

Are there a lot of Italians in Connecticut or how comes?

Idk why you're being downvoted. New Haven has some amazing pizza.

That garlicky clam shit is pretty repugnant though

Exactly how many times did you copy-paste this exact comment in this thread?

The top one looks better to me, thin and greasy yum. The bottom one looks like something a douche from Tennessee would eat.

The top one looks like someone literally dumped a bunch grease and fat on dough. I like pizza with thinner bottom and crust better, but in this case at least the non-NY pizza has actual ingredients.

Are you under the impression that the top pizza is made from anti-matter?

Mate are you kidding the top looks disgusting what shit quality food do you have in the states. Even what we have in Australia is better than that.

Wow you think you are a real Australian? Name 5 Paul hogan movies that aren't crocodile dundee.

Mad Max: the Motion Picture. Mad Max II: The Wrath of Sue. Mad Max III: The Search for Master Blaster. Mad Max IV: The Voyage Home. Flipper.

Everyone knows the true Australian movie is The Castle

NY style pizza doesn't look good but it tastes really good.

Same. 99¢ a slice. Have to drip off some oil before you eat it. Delicious.

New Yorker: THESE ARE BOTH NEW YORK PIZZAS. The top is just a dollar slice, while the other is neapolitan.

Guys please don't judge us or our pizza by this post.

Also if you had bad pizza in NYC it's your fault for eating in Midtown.

I really don't get this. The top pizza looks like cheap shitty pizza and the bottom one looks like good quality pizza. Is the image saying that people from Wisconsin and Tennessee think that NYC pizza is fancy pizza but it's actually shitty pizza? Is the person saying all this from NYC and is dissing their own pizza, or do they just have a shitty taste in pizza?

I'm so confused at this image.

I guess they meant to say "real New Yorkers eat shitty $1 a slice pizza and enjoy it. $29 fancy hipster pizza isn't authentic". That is the only way that post would make sense because the second pizza looks so much better.

I love it. I'm a Nashville native and the people here are always complaining about all the people who move here from New York. I dig the feeling being mutual.

Their pizza, however, is welcome any day.

Actually the second pizza is a more European style wood oven pizza.

Thanks to the constant stream of people going through big cities like New York, you can find any pizza you can imagine in one city, including what Chicagoans call Pizza. Everyone can be happy with what they want, and the gatekeepers can fuck right off

I like both. Sometimes I crave a pizza like the ones I could get in Europe, sometimes I want one of those big generic NYC style slice that you have to fold in half to eat, which you can also get in Montreal. Sometimes I want neither. The world still spins

I'm Australian, and looking at this it appears that New York has some shitty shit looking pizza

Try it.

Try oily cheese only pizza that doesn't even have much cheese or sauce?

Why?

Hard pass. That second pizza can get it though

Never understood the draw for New York style pizza. The dough is too dry and there's not enough cheese. But to each their own.

NYC style yes. Buffalo style is in an entire other pizza stratosphere. Almost want to move back just for the pie.

Ask for extra cheese bro. I love a crispy thin greasy slice of pizza whenever I drink, bake some ziti on top even better.

Extra cheese? Just go for a poutine!

New York style is fantastic when made well, the top image just looks super low quality

I agree with this post and I will fight everyone in this thread.

I live in NYC and both of these pizzas look good.

Top looks like the generic cheap garbage they serve for school lunch that makes you envy Dominoes.

They both look great to me. But the bottom one is a better example of the kind of pizza it is. Top is pretty standard.

I'm in the airport coming back from a trip to Long Island and all I've had since I got here is pizza. Personally, when I'm here I only choose to have NY slices. When I'm in Florida, I almost exclusively get margherita (bottom) pies when I can.

This picture confused me so much because the bottom picture looks upscale and appetizing, and I have no idea what Emilys and Codys have to do with anything.

As a Canadian...

The top NYC pizza looks like the shittiest cheapest pizza I would never spend money on...

Which begs the question:

What would be the shittiest cheapest pizza you would EVER spend money on?

Little Caesars. I'm not proud. But only on Monday! I have standards!

As an argentinian, they both look like shitty pizzas to me

My local pizza place does a pizza like the top picture and I live in the south of England. Seems like NY pizza isn't strictly limited to NY.

Pizzagatekeeping jk.

This person makes it seem like they only produce quite plain pizzas of one type in NYC. It's not a redneck thing to put a lot of toppings on your pizza lol.
