And eye contact. And smiling. I want to see the faces go opposite.

In addition, she leans back away from the camera so that her posture straightens out and the light isn't reflecting off her face. She also pulled her hair over to the make-up side.

Lighting and posture- two big components of taking good photos of people.

It isn't like that isn't a huge part of our perception of beauty especially living in this instagram age

Sure, but I'm going to say the full drag makeup plays the biggest part in this.

. Bottom line is it's practically a different person.

One would be cute serious and the other would be genuine cute

That's just a different kind of cute. We all know better than to take cute things seriously.

There is definitely more of a power-of-facial-expression on one's attractiveness here than make-up.

The jaw line improves so much with the smile, the eyes also get wider with the angle and her face gets smaller when she moves away from the camera.

The girl doesn't have her hair in the frame in any picture except the last. Pretty big factor.

Also bonus life pro tip you fellas need to read for fuck sake:

If your girl puts on makeup and takes any kind of pride in doing it do not tell her she looks better without it!

Tell her she's really good at applying makeup!

Now to us guys that seems like a snide comment, but it's a big time compliment for them.

Makeup is an art.

It's like you've drawn something and she comes along and says 'I liked the paper better when it was blank'.

Dude. My boyfriend told me once I did my eye shadow really good and that was so nice! He told me “it's in layers and shit! It looks great on you.” I blushed really hard.

really strikes at fundamental difference between men and women

I disagree. I think it strikes at a difference between thinking of what you want vs what they want.

Men don't care for makeup so we think it's a compliment to say a girl is so pretty she doesn't need it. Women use makeup so much they take pride in a skilled application, so they want compliments about their skill.

Not that complicated.

Yeah you nailed my point. it's a shame everyone else can't grasp this simple concept...

Yeah, be honest and say the smell doesn't agree with you and suggest changing brands etc.

One problem at a time though.

Don't say it smells AND tastes awful because that will be interpreted as blanket criticism.

Chances are if you change brands the taste will change as well.

Are there any good tasting brands you recommend? I like to pop out those little makeup discs and eat them like cookies but so far they all taste awful

Natural make up smells/tastes better - less chemicals and perfumes.

You have to put cheese and cold cuts on them.

Not that i have noticed. The unscented stuff all smells pretty much the same, and I'm allergic to pretty much every perfume so i am not keen on thise either.

As a female, I don't agree with that. Maybe I'm a weirdo female.

To be fair, I don't pack on the make up anyway.

What If I just say that she looks good with and without?

I don't usually wear make up either. Maybe lipstick now and then. But if someone said 'I like your lipstick,' that would be cool. Saying 'you looked better before you put that lipstick on,' world be hurtful. So I don't think amount or frequency of make up wear is really a factor in how you take this.

Doesn't it depend if your goal was to make the paper better?

Somebody could draw something really disgusting but there is no way I have to lie and kiss it or tell her that she's good at making something disgusting and to a lot of guys that's what makeup is to some of the levels that its applied

I had my husband watch this movie for the first time recently and he ridiculed it from start to finish, especially this waterfall thing. It's turned into something of an inside joke now, every so often he'll just walk up to me, waterfall my face without saying a word, and then walk away.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice. When showing her face without makeup, she has a really frowny, uninterested expression, when she shows her face with makeup, she has a huge smile and adopts an entirely different position. The makeup makes a difference, but her expression is a big factor too.

I'm thinking I should do this as a man to help attract a mate. Women, would you notice if I a man was wearing a little makeup?

I personally think it should be totally okay for men to wear makeup. Makeup mainly focuses on enhancing femininity but it can also bring out masculinity. Dont do eye makeup, dont do warm colors. Keep everything neutral if you want to go beyond concealer.

Also my grandma dated a boy when she was in highschool who put makeup on his blemishes. She was the only one who knew because he told her. Nobody could tell and this was in the mid 60's.

Expanding on this, men can benefit a lot from make up. I would definitely go with neutral tones that go with your skin tone. Just some standard shadow, highlight, foundation. The big boons to make up for guys is that you can really accent the jaw line, forehead around the temples, cheeks and the sides of the nose.

Doing your make up right around your jaw is great. Just try to find videos for men specifically. Men tend to benefit a lot from a lot more aggressively straight/boxy angles and high contrast.

While I don't see anything wrong with a man wearing makeup, I don't know why we would want to encourage the behavior. If anything we should try and move in the opposite direction, encourage more women to lose the makeup, go natural. I hate seeing my gf have to spend 20-30min every day wasting time putting her face on because that's what society demands. I'm sure she enjoys it to some extent but I also think it's more conditioning than anything. I think it would be a horrible thing if the new standard became everyone had to walk around with makeup and the only way you could compete in the dating world was to hide all your blemishes.

It's quite normal in some Asian countries. I've been living in Korea for a while now and my girlfriend showed me some pictures she took in office of men putting up some makeup behind the computer. Mostly to have a more smooth skin though, not lipstick or anything.

I was invited to a wedding in Indonesia, one of the best friends of my then-girlfriend was getting married. Well, living half of the world apart I had only seen the bride in the pictures she uploaded to social media, always with makeup, colored contact lenses, etc Then I met her some days before the wedding and I spent a couple of days hanging out with them and my girlfriend.

The wedding day passed and the morning after I was in the hotel lobby having some coffe when this girl sat next to me and started talking to me. It took me some time to realize it was the bride without makeup. I barely recognized her.
