Does anyone else feel like this could actually turn out to be a good thing because it will literally destroy all good preconceptions that people have ever had with republican presidents and get democrats elected for the next ~12+ years?

I like to think about that sometimes. Thoughts?

In a perfect world, it would spell the end of the Replican party as a whole. I'd rather they end up as a minority party going forward.

No. The collective memory is extremely short.

Thought the same thing about Bush and the financial crisis. And I'm not old enough, but I imagine people thought that about past republican presidents. Now here we are.
