              It's a mistaken application of statistics; if a simulation of the universe could be developed, then more than one could be, and if there could be millions of them, then the chance we're the one that isn't a simulation is incredibly small.

              If that technology is possible, that means either we are the first ones in the entire universe/dimension that would develop that capability (which is pretty unlikely, chances are we're not that special), or that we are simply one more in a line of simulations.

              If it's possible to create a simulation indistinguishable from reality, that means we have no direct way of knowing if we're a simulation.
