What is a military might if you don't exert any influence anywhere? Is the US becoming so isolationist that they become irrelevant on the world stage?

China is more than happy to exert their influence in SE Asia as well as most of the booming Africa in a trade perspective; they really have fingers in every pie. I strongly doubt the Trump administration will be so proactive.
