This kinda pisses me off. I thought Martial was pretty good today. I can't be the only one who noticed Liverpool ganging up on him with 3 or 4 players every time he had the ball, right? And the many times (especially in the first half) where he skipped past the right back as if he wasn't even there. Playing against an 18-year old or not, it's almost impossible to "do better" when you're constantly surrounded by at least three players, unless maybe you're Messi. And it's not like Martial is that much older himself.

I agree, he got past him every time but then got three men put on him and was very isolated with very little service. He should have stayed on if you ask me

He made some great runs early on but pool shut him out of the game. Considering he didn't make an impact and came off when we struggled to create, 5 is fair. That said, not many of our attackers would get more than a 5 barring Ibra and Mkhi.

That's why it's not a terrible idea to pass the ball once in a while, before you run into their press.

It wasn't just Martial's fault though. Pogba passed him so often you'd think they'd swapped body fluids the night before. Meanwhile our best creator walked off the pitch with a mere 25 touches, most of them with his head, and one goal to his name. A part of me (my brain) can't help to think that "Pogba to Ibra to Martial" is a better concept than "Pogba to Martial to stuck again".

It's not the first time we've seen this dynamic with those two on the pitch so it's not a knee jerk opinion. If they are going to play together Mourinho has to sort them out. Or play Rooney or Marcus.

5 is average. Not bad not good. Liverpool played well to defend against him and he was unable to make a big impact. Fair score. I do think he shouldn't not have been subbed out so early.
