@jomathan
That's nice. Then you should have already known what I said. Meaning I shouldn't have had to say it because you wouldn't have made the complaint you did.
@jul riv
Nobody requests creator to reply backers one by one. As a backer, we just want a regular update which should be responsibility of creator. Until December, Scott kept a good record but no more this month. This change worries me.
@tzfardaya would you like to teach me how to suck eggs now. Being a fully charted senior stress engineer I know about production and issues. I am stating a fact and until you know my skill set do not presume to lecture me.
@jonathan
There is a world of difference between "production ready" and "in production"
"Production ready" means the design is ready to move into the production phase, requiring tooling and testing to be done. That's where this project was, during the tooling phase is when they discovered issues with the current design. This happens with nearly all "production ready" designs.
"in Production" means that the product has been through the tooling and testing phases and can be massed produced in sufficient numbers.
Actually this was marketed as a fully developed product, which required the cash to put it into production. Spooly has been on here before and was cancelled. Should have stated in the blurb that it was not production ready and would take further development.
Still i think it's not that big kind of a deal to actually communicate a little with all those backers, especially when there are so many of us asking for a status.
I mean, it would take like 5 minutes to add another update.
The last update stated shipping second week in February I believe. So I wouldn't start panicking until February.
If 10% of the backers sent him an email the he would have almost 400 emails to go through and reply. I would rather he work on the spooly.
Remember, folks this is not a store. You are not ordering something from Amazon or Best Buy. This product didn't exist and actually doesn't exist yet. So try and be patient. Be positive and don't slow them down with a bunch of bullsh_#t
MFI testing did cause a delay but at the same time as that delay there was also a magnetic delay. So apple H8ers chill the latest delay was about the magnetics, the hold up is about the magnetics working right and looking right thus the reason we all pledged to this campaign.
Please read the updates before commenting!!!!!!!!!!! ; )
@ dezign Ideas As several other comments state THE MFI CERT IS NOT THE REASON THEY ARE DROOPING REVERSIBLE USB. Its due to breakage and lack of strength.
@dezign ideaz
I think it depends how difference between standard USB and reversible USB. I will carry Spooly on keychain. If reversible USB breaks easily, I will prefer standard USB. If reversible USB is just a bit weaker than standard USB, I will prefer reversible USB. For the moment, I will choose standard USB as a safer choice.
@Parul Kanodia
They have not shipped yet. Please see updates.
@Creator
I am waiting for update too. Based on last update, production should begin.
One of the big points of the spooky was not just the magnetic cable wrap feature but also the universal USB type A. Gutting that this design has reverted to a standard Type A. I think the right thing to do would have been ditch the MFi (Apple) certification (though still use the chips) and give us the form factor we backed.
No idea, I'm not part of the dev team...
I just know that there's some school districts that aren't back to class until next week... And some families take the same time off work. I know we have some guys at my shop still off as well.
Creator has gone missing ...he used to reply email, it's been a week or more and hasn't reply to me... kinda feel that he is not so driven for his own project anymore.
At the rate this is going I will have already upgraded to the iPhone 8. Since that's the case what's the likelihood this product will work. Because of all the set backs you're already having with the last gen and current phones it's fair to assume not good?
Hi Scott, could you tell us something about how things are going? From your update on December 9th we know that you expect to start shipping in the second week of February, but I'd like some news before, I wouldn't like to know at that time that new setbacks happened. Could you tell us if everything goes as you planned on December 9th? Thank you
I know that It's late but now when you are so delayed can i change my cables to All USB type C?? Because my phone is is broken so i had to buy a USB type C phone
Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!

Hi, Spooly.
I am very satisfied with your updates.
Of course, I'm a little bit disgruntled about slow delivery.
Anyway, when I ordered spooly, the things I had at the time changed a lot, so can I change the things I ordered?
If the purchase amount is more than before, I would like to change it.
I want you to check that my purchase list can be changed.
I'll wait for a comment
