Rare 1957 vintage Packard Clipper Station Wagon, one of 869 produced in 1957. This is a 2 owner car originally ordered and purchased in Texas in the Llano area. The original owner specified on order that he was to pick his car personally at the train depot in Corsicana Texas.
Powered by the Mcculloch Supercharged Studebaker 275 hp 289 engine, 4.27 geared positrac rear differential, 3 speed manual transmission with optional overdrive, Tiara Gold and Artic White paint exterior, black and silver interior.
In order to produce an engine of appropriate power for a Packard, a McCulloch-supercharged version of Studebaker's 289 in³ (4.7 L) small-block V8 was used, giving 275 bhp (205 kW), equivalent to the Packard engines in use the year before (and likewise used in the Studebaker Golden Hawk). Since the Studebaker-bodied cars were quite a bit lighter than the previous year's Packards, the 1957 Packard range actually had quite exceptional performance for the time.
The car is complete, clean and will run and has been kept in dry storage. It needs complete restoration.
