David Martosko, the U.S. political editor for the Daily Mail Online, suggested twice-a-year drug tests, among other steps, in a confidential memo to the president-elect, BuzzFeed reported.

“Journalists who are at the White House more than one day per week should be subject to drug screenings to occur no more than twice a year at random times,” the proposal said, according to the  Post. “Refusal to comply should exclude them from credentialing entirely.”

The memo came as part of Martosko's application to be Trump's press secretary, BuzzFeed reported. It was floated as one of 13 ideas he shared with Trump's transition team.

Trump chose Sean Spicer, former communications director of the Republican National Committee, to serve as press secretary instead.

The Hill is asking for a comment, but BuzzFeed said Martosko declined to comment on its report.
