        Yep. But was there a real replacement? Fellaini is not that, at all. Perhaps Carrick could have stayed and Rooney could have come in at Pogba's expense?

        Pogba's performance was an even bitter pill to swallow what with all the emoji signs on the digital ad boards on the sides of the pitch. I wonder if Sir Alex would have ever allowed that.

          Mata has a propensity to get a goal out of nowhere and his link up play is superb. Martial seemed winded in the 1st half but he was cooking that joke of a RB. However as you said, Mkhi can put in a shift at LB so Martial was the odd man out.

                    The last straw with Pogba for me was when he tried to backheel a pass through 2 Liverpool players on him (and the counterattack that led to the wijnaldum header). So arrogant.

                      Herrera was carrying that midfield on his own most of the game and was the best united player on the pitch imo. Was everywhere and didn't give an inch. Was also proper cunty with that Firmino shirt pull near the end which i loved.

                            Our midfield 3 all had sub-par games. Taking Carrick off for Rooney left me speechless at first but Mou made the correct decision

                            Edit: Remember Rooney was the one that controlled the cross and sent the ball in towards Fellaini that then went off the post to Zlatan who scored. So yes, he played a major role. Look I understand Rooney isn't his old self but its ridiculous to write off his contribution to this match.

                              He came on and changed the game, which was fantastic as it opened them up.

                              At the end though, he annoyed me by going for glory when he did he double feign and tried to shoot rather than threading a ball through to (I think) Valencia. Some bad passing from him as well.

                              At the end of the day, we gained a point on City, still unbeaten and got through a tough game. In a weeks time I'm sure we'll all feel better.

                              Shout out to Jose again for making good substitutions. Still don't understand why we always play poorly in the first half and then play infinitely better in the second.

                                        Can't believe Martial came off - he had the beating of their little right back every time he had the ball and something was going to come of it eventually. Pogba had an awful game - just seemed too anxious and didn't settle down.

                                                I thought we played well overall. Pogba didn't have a good game. Trying too hard similar to early in the season. Just needs to relax.

                                                We were shit today, yet were still the better side. They did absolutely nothing from open play and we kept wasting chances.

                                                I don't think you can say we deserved to win the match because it really was a lacklustre performance but a draw probably kills any slim hope we had of winning the league.

                                                The most disappointing thing is that looking at the Liverpool starting eleven and then looking at ours, we have so much more quality. Their back line in particular was horrid, yet we still didn't threaten them enough.

                                                Ultimately it's another two points dropped which we shouldn't have been dropping.

                                                That midfield was woeful. Extremely static with barely any off-ball movement. Pogba and Herrera needed to make themselves available but Pogba was a statue this match and Herrera wasn't moving into correct spaces. He kept moving to be alongside Carrick which compressed us on the attack and allowed Liverpool to press as a team.

                                                The worst part was our transition phase. One of the most crucial components of Barcelona's success around the start of the decade was the idea of compression and expansion. You compress the area of play when defending to suffocate attacks and you expand the area of play when you have possession to maximise possibilities.

                                                We absolutely failed to do that. If we got the ball while compressed, we remained that way. If we received the ball while expanded, we didn't collapse back in upon losing it.

                                                This sub is so toxic when things don't go our way. Even when Ibra grabs an equalizer to at least save us a point, many people on this sub persecute a number of players. In reality, players have off days and up against the high press it's difficult to play how they wanted to play. I'm disappointed we didn't win as the better team, but I'm proud that unlike in previous seasons, the team really pushed towards the end.

                                                Don't know why people are saying the substitutions were wrong or shit.

                                                Rooney was alright when he came on and most of all brought a bit of fire to us in the second half, almost came away with an assist when Fellaini struck the post.

                                                Mata for me was getting into the spaces where we were losing the ball in the first half. It was so frustrating watching balls come back from the Liverpool backline or not make their intended man and nobody being in that space between midfield and attack. Mata filled it more and that allowed him to feed and create more space for Valencia.

                                                Marouane Fucking Fellaini. For all my criticisms of him he has really made a huge positive difference in the past couple of games. I personally was thinking Mou should have brought on Rashford for a bit more pace but Fellaini paid off. Liverpool defending deep and Fellaini causing the defence problems under high balls. Looked far more composed than I'm used to seeing him and obviously played a huge part in our goal, unlucky not to score himself.

                                                Overall it's the subs that turned the game for us. That was a side we really could and should have beaten so I can't wait to get another crack at the scouse bastards.

                                                Unfortunate match for Pogba to be below his usual standard, though to be fair he was better (marginally) in the second half. Also thought Mykhi looked a little off the pace - bloody Henderson caught him up. Was really hoping to see Rashford come on instead of Mata to be honest, would have loved to have seen him drive at the young Liverpool RB. If we'd been a little sharper with our finishing, we could have won.

                                                We lost the game more than Liverpool won it. We were very unlucky to concede that first goal. Literally two consecutive mistakes. That handball obviously affected Pogba's confidence. More than anything else though, that gave Liverpool the impetus. Obviously, goals change games. I wasn't terribly impressed by what was on show by Liverpool until we played long ball. When we ceded control of the midfield, they looked a lot more dangerous. I am utterly disappointed by the result because I know we can play so much better. We really ought to have given their right back a baptism of fire. All in all, an exciting game. Oh we had chances to score the first goal and equalise in the first half. They had two or three to make it two. I am rambling now...Herrera he is a bastard, but he is our bastard.                                                 Just a layman opinion, but it seems whole team is kind of cursed with short passes. They pass too often and then you have 10 players at the back defending which is almost impossible to pass. The 3 good chances (Mkhi 1,2 Rooney - maybe more didn't see first 20min) and the goal came after going stealing the ball and running instead of slowing it down. They need to mix it up a bit and keep the game at the center. But Liverpool played very well, they came prepared for very defensive game and did very few mistakes.

                                                Oh and Pogba, dude needs bit of an ego check, you are not messi, stop fooling around. It seemed his performance spiraled down, last half he was nowhere to be seen besides giant mistakes. Bench for match or two would probably help him.

                                                I have been watching and supporting Man Utd for almost 27 years. I worry about the way the team is heading in terms of treating individual players like they're superstars (re: Pogba's recent emoji on Twitter). I understand times have changed, but I really doubt Fergie would have been pleased with making an individual player superstar above the team.

                                                I am also not very impressed with Pogba since he re-joined us. He is good/decent against small teams, but has been poor against big teams. More importantly, the way he plays frustrates me a lot. He tries too hard to make good highlight clips of himself in the game, attempting to dribble past 2-3 players. But let's keep it real: he is no CR7 (and even CR7 stopped trying that a lot in his later years) and he is not as talented as CR7 in dribbling. Sure, it'd have been okay in games where we are, say, 2-0 ahead. But NOT in games like this importance!

                                                Also, once Pogba loses the ball for his own fault, he tracks back in a very laid back fashion. THAT is the most annoying thing and if I were the manager, I'd call him out on that, "Pogba, it's your fault you lost the ball; show some passion and hard work to win it back!"

                                                Pogba had an off day but I thought everybody else played fine.

                                                Derby games are always going to be tight and fairly scrappy, especially with tight presses! We were on top for the bulk of the game but they defended surprisingly well. A fair result overall, that keeps us just 5 points off second place.

                                                Overconfidence killed pogba imho it seemed as if he found the match difficult and instead of grabbing it by the scruff of the neck he resigned himself to mediocrity.

                                                There was one instance where he tried a flick on the left flank with two defenders on him and promptly gave the ball away which led to a Liverpool break saved only by king Dave.

                                                He needs to realize not every match is easy, most top 4 teams have players as good as you and this isn't serie A.
