Though I understand the point you are trying to make, I do feel like a lot of these games occurred when we were still finding our rhythm and we have 'turned a corner' since. The team has developed an awful lot since September/October in my opinion.

I am now far more confident that we will take points off these sides in the games to come and do believe that Mourinho is reestablishing the expectation of victory going in to each game. This had been missing over the last few years (despite LVG having a particularly good record vs top 6)

Spot on. We weren't in form or settled on a first 11 until after that Chelsea game. Pre Chelsea game it's 2 points from 12, post Chelsea game it's 4 points from 6. It'll be tough but we are still one of the more in form teams fighting for 4th.

City and Chelsea were from before we worked out our system and found form. We dominated against Arsenal. We could have easily won today. I'm unconcerned.

we were pretty good before we played city, and we even grew into that game and was close to getting a draw.

very similar to what happened today. started off shit, but this time we didn't fuck up as much and only conceded once before growing into the game.

Yeah and last season it was the games against the smaller teams. We know we're not the finished article. Far from it. We're going well without having to try and look into things like this

The only match that we were truly outplayed was the one vs Chelsea.

Arsenal - it was a draw that we deserved to win. Even Arsenal fans won't disagree.

Pool - I'd say it's a fair result in both the games.

City - we lost but we were not outplayed. Also, it was before we had a first choice XI.

Yeah, we could and should get more points but it isn't a dire situation like the stat is alluding.

Here's some positivity: We are only 5 points off 2nd place

This is often how we were under Ferguson. We picked up all the points against the lower teams, but struggled against the top.

We'll know whether to be happy or sad with this result after our next 3 games, Hull, Watford, Stoke

Pls dont tell me he has a worse record than Moyes against top 4?

Mourinho teams are typically flat track bullies whilst looking to nick a win against rivals.

Problem is the emergence of a top 6 means you HAVE to do well against bigger teams as well if you want to win the title. Will be interesting to see where mourinho goes from here.

Doesn't matter imo.

League is won against the smaller teams, not the the top 4. And will probably always be the case. It's losing to Everton 4-0 that knocks your title off challenge, not draws to Arsenal et al.

My only concern is that we won't get into the top 4 because the top 6 aren't losing so we have to beat them to overtake them

If we have one more poor run of form we will definitely be out of the top 4 race

Mourinho got outclassed by both Klopp and Pep. Thankfully he's beating the dross.

Louis on the other hand beat the big teams and kept losing against the likes of Swansea

We weren't outclassed today. We had the better chances.

Mourinho got out tacticed in both games IMO

Only team I'd say outclassed us was Chelsea. City and pool matches could have gone either way.

Neither manager beat the other, both sides were equally poor but Pogba just took the cake
