Donald Trump’s bad luck continues. First singer Paul Anka suddenly realized he has a "scheduling conflict" and won’t be able to perform at the Inauguration festivities. Then Broadway singer Jennifer Holiday backed out and penned a letter to LGBT fans:
“My only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT Community and to state unequivocally that I WILL NOT PERFORM FOR THE WELCOME CONCERT OR FOR ANY OF THE INAUGURATION FESTIVITIES!”
Holliday ends her letter telling her gay fans: “Please know that I HEAR YOU and I feel your pain. The LGBT Community was mostly responsible for birthing my career and I am deeply indebted to you… You have loved me faithfully and unconditionally and for so many years you provided me with work even though my star had long since faded.”
And now Opera star Andrea Bocelli is out. Sad!
Bocelli cited “death threats,” but disappointed fans had promised a boycott of records and concerts.
For Trumpsters who plan on attending, they’ll still (as of now, subject to change) be enjoying the soothing sounds of yesteryear with performances from country singers Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood, 2010 second place America’s Got Talent singer Janet Evancho and 90’s rock band 3 Doors Down.
After the inauguration, 3 Doors Down will continue their tour of casino showrooms and strawberry festivals:
That is, if they survive the onslaught of negative attention from one-time fans. The nearly 5,000 comments on their Facebook page are brutal.
Sad to hear that you guys support this racist, misogynistic, ignorant man. You should of played at the Women's March instead.
Regret ever meeting you (Brad/Chris) and thinkng you guys were solid. Such a great memory of New Years Eve with Creed ruined. Just really, really gross you would do this. #UNAMERICAN
I have enjoyed three of your concerts here in Las Vegas in the past few years but won't ever support you again. You have chosen to support a bigot, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, sexist liar. I assume you therefore condone the same beliefs ... I forgot, you're from bigoted, racist Mississippi. Nevadans did not vote for Trump, so don't bother coming back here again.
But, it isn’t a total loss for Donald Trump. Actor Jon Voight will still be attending.
