Mario goes through level after level of hell of all sorts of stuff trying to kill him (and collecting gold coins) just to rescue the princess that never shows him love.

In the end, Peach is a cock tease who'll crave attention to the point where she gets kidnapped by Bowser just so Mario can rescue her all over again.
