I just wanna ask why Sir Alex sold Berbatov, wasn't he good enough at that time? I don't remember clearly. Okay we bought Van Persie, we had Rooney Chicha Welbeck, is that the reason he was sold cause we had a lot of strikers? I just watched all his 57 goals for United and was impressed by his quality, I was too young to understand how good he was, pure class.

He fell out of favour with Fergie. Fergie wanted to play fast counter attacking football so he spent the guts of 2 years warming the bench

Berba never quite established himself. Supposedly Fergie decided to sell him after he missed some sitters against City in the FA Cup.

Berbetov was never world class. It hurt because Tevez would have stayed if it wasn't for him. He scored quite a few goals but most of them came against smaller sides or when the team was winning.

He was a great player to watch, silky and with a great touch. He was an OK player to have, not one of our best ever strikers anyway.
