  NEWS

Jesse Lingard has agreed a new four-year deal with United worth £95,000 a week, reports The Sun.

The paper claims the 'contract stand-off is over', with the player committing himself to the club until 2021 and the option of an extra year.

The Sun says Lingard was previously on £30,000 a week and that the club offered double, but this was rejected. Now, it seems, they have returned with improved terms that the player and his representatives have agreed to.

Adnan Januzaj has spoken to Lyon about a move to France, according to the player's agent.

The 21-year-old Belgian, currently on a season-long loan at Sunderland, has 18 months to run on a five-year deal.

"Lyon are one of many French clubs who have recently sounded out the plans of Adnan. Out of respect, we listen to everyone," said agent Dirk De Vriese.

"The ultimate decision is for Manchester United, and we have not yet heard from them that they want to sell Adnan."

RUMOURS

Man Utd's hopes of offloading Memphis Depay are not going to plan following reports that Lyon are the only club currently attempting to sign the Dutch winger on a permanent deal.

Depay will be allowed to leave during the transfer window, providing a suitable offer is made, but, other than Lyon, all other clubs just want to sign him on loan, reports ESPN.

And we are told Lyon have offered substantially less than United's £15 million valuation of a player signed from PSV Eindhoven for £25 million in June 2015.

Any hopes of an emotional return to Old Trafford for Patrice Evra appear dead in the water, with Sky Italia reporting that the Juventus left-back could be on his way to Crystal Palace.

The French left-back spent eight years at Old Trafford earlier in his career and rumours started circulating that he could - at the age of 35 - make a return. It seems, though, that it will be to a Premier League rival.

A re-cap of yesterday's news and rumours

- Jose Mourinho is said to be lining up a £30 million offer for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko in order to beat rivals Chelsea to the Frenchman.

- Paulo Dybala won't be moving to United any time soon after verbally committing his future to Juventus.

- Manchester United have triggered a clause in Marouane Fellaini's contract that will keep the midfielder at Old Trafford until 2018.
