Re: Magical Negroes

How old were you when you dropped out of high school?

Johnson graduated from high school at age 14.[5] At age 15, she began attending West Virginia State College. As a student, Johnson took every math course the college offered. Multiple professors took Johnson under their wings, including chemist and mathematician Angie Turner King, who had also mentored Johnson throughout high school, and W.W. Schiefflin Claytor, the third African American to receive a PhD in math. Claytor added new math courses just for Johnson. She graduated summa cum laude in 1937, with degrees in math and French, at age 18

Re: Magical Negroes

The idea that without her, the spae program would have ground to a halt is preposterous.

So is this something people are actually saying? If so, where are they saying it? Or is the idea that Johnson was personally responsible for the success of NASA one that you personally are promoting just so you can shoot it down?

He's a racist troll building straw men. Presumably because he has nothing better to do.

So she got a B.S. in Math from a small black college. Hardly the stuff of legends.
