Thing is you find Jet in pre-war safes. Places where it would have never been since Jet was a post-war drug made from Brahmin manure vapors.

There's no good explanation for Jet on the East Coast unless you accept Bethesda's deletion of Myron's pretty detailed explanation of how he created Jet and the near 100 lives lost to make it.

Maybe he lied and just found an old text book with the recipe which contained 'cow dung', nobody else knew what cow dung was so they never made it, Myron figured out a Brahmin was essentially a cow and figured out the rest.Jet wasn't popular or was banned pre-war in california and Myron took the market. There's always an answer with fictional game stories however far fetched.

.......this is actually the first theory i've heard that makes sense.

he found it in a text book and took credit..... someone tell bethesda they have a way out =D

It was a bit tongue in cheek, imagine the uproar if they put that in!

uproar yes? but would it fill in the inconsistency. oh yes

and it fits the wasteland perfectly.

if no one remembers it was originally a thing but you, why not take credit for it.

Then maybe Bethesda should actually make some lore that explains Pre-War Jet. Not just go "lol maybe myron lied i dunno".

Or better: stop Jet from appearing in safes.

Oh god, this again. People are trying to find an in-lore explanation for engine mechanics.

Safes are like containers and containers are populated with random loot. Seriously.

Ok. How about the pre-war terminal that lists Jet as one of the drugs to be shipped to the vault. What engine mechanic put that in? It's also easy to blacklist an item from appearing to actually make sense in your supposed-to-be-story-driven RPG.

Well I mean jet could still be on the east coast. People have travelled there from the west coast since fo2.

I'd chalk jet being in pre-war safes or places that have been untouched to people working on the game who were just told to put loot places without much other direction. There's really no lord explanation for it.

Except it's everywhere. Safes, stores, vaults, EVERYWHERE.

The amount of people who've traveled from the West to the East just cannot account for the sheer amount of Jet in places that should not have had any contact with it.

Stores it makes sense, people's homes/safes makes sense. Vaults not so much.

And it isn't like people can't make jet, if just one person comes around and tells another person how to make it it'll likely start becoming more plentiful.

Like I said in the second part of my previous content; when it's in untouched places it makes no fucking sense and you can chalk it up to employees who don't know what they're doing.

the problem isnt that there is jet in the vault, the problem is that an offical pre-war vault tec terminal lists jet as one of the drugs they need to ship to the vault

I think that Jet was a Pre War Drug. So heres my take on it: I know Myron made it, but what if he simply 'tweaked' a few things in the established recipe (resulting in higher addiction rates and a dependency on it). However, his improved Formula ended up killing a lot of his test subjects. Which you see in the Graveyards around Reno.

But when he finally 'improved' it, it swept the coast by storm. Addiction sells; Myron was happy to provide. Backing up the claim he made, he could easily pass of the Pre War Jet as a lower grade formula of his, before the better version came out.

[–]Navarroguardand ill say "maybe" 0

the problem with that is that he tells you exactly how it came to be. you NEED brahmin and they didn't exist back then.

It's merely an oversight from the developers. If you read the terminal, the experimentation was way back before the events of Myron's charades.

obviously if you use enough Jet you will go backwards in time

jet anesthetic

what

Loot is randomly generated. Bethesda can't fix the fact that jet is randomly generating in locked safes, as that would require completely recoding the vaults.

It's understandable to have Jet outside of safes and on tables in Vaults, but due to the generation algorithm for loot, it occasionally spawns in locked safes inside of vaults.

Jet is a prewar drug, it was used as anesthetic I think but the method of production was lost during the Great War. Myron whatshisface found out a drug could be made from Brahmin dung which was almost identical to the prewar jet. This meant Myron could claim he made jet as no one could deny it and prewar ghouls who had used the drug couldn't tell the difference. While that is a stretch in explaining the lore inconsistency it is the best possible explanation I could come up with.
