How to stop Tom's Hardware from sending popups to my computer

You allowed them in the first place. You have to disable them again. How depends on which browser youre using.

No, No, No. Only Tom's Hardware sends the popups. They come from Tom's Hardware, not the Chrome browser roaming the internet to find hapless web sites that it can lift data from to deliver to my computer. I suspect that I clicked on the Tom's Hardware site to get notifications on the assumption that they would be emailed but instead I get browser notifications which I don't want. The source is Toms Hardware and only Toms Hardware. They started after I was on the Toms Hardware site, they contain only information from Toms Hardware site.

They are delivered by a third party that manages notifications for web sites. It delivers Toms Hardware data to me because it is Toms Hardware that wants to send me data. They don't send me any data from the many other sites that they represent.

Yes yes yes they use good ol' fashioned web push notifications but you can remove sites - including evil Tom's Hardwrae - individually. You should be more careful about what you are doing or you could make costly mistakes online. Follow the above advice and rid yourself of this evil!!!

First: web push notifications are old but they aren't good if you don't want them.

Second: I am careful about what I am doing. Allowing selected sites to notify me of new content is an essential function of how I use some sites. Reputable sites allow you to opt out. If Toms Hardware does have an opt out option it is so hidden as to make it difficult for users to find it. What makes me wonder is why you personally find it amusing that someone objects to a web site loading unwanted material over top of other web sites content in a way that forces the user to make adjustments to his computer to stop it.

Third: I have already taken the step of blocking _all_ sites in content management. They still appear. I have taken the extra step of listing Toms Hardware individually in addition to the universal setting. Of course that brings up the whole issue what is the correct address that should be entered. The address presented to me is quite likely not the correct one to make the individual block option effective.

Possibly, simply visiting Toms Hardware again after making my changes causes them to be overridden because...wait for it....I have checked the enable email notification box at the bottom of this page so I can continue to get assistance in how to stop Toms Hardware hostile practices. Such assistance has not been very welcoming so far, consisting mostly of me changing how I deal with web sites, rather than how to get Toms Hardware themselves to stop infecting my computer.

As I have pointed out, I have made the changes to my browser. I just checked again to ensure that the -do not allow any site notifications option- is checked. The Toms Hardware notifications still appear.

I visited the site a few days ago. I have not been here for a while. I used to use this as a trusted source but I will have to rethink that.

Ever since then I have been getting pop-up ads from this Website. I closed the browser tab for the site but the ads have been coming in several times a day. It would appear that something is running on my computer that should not be. In other words, I may have picked up malware here.

I clicked the "Contact Us" button and was re-directed here to Puch.Com. I tried to pose a question but I received a message, "Internal Error" and the message will not post.

Would someone please explain why Tom's Hardware thinks this is a good idea. That is about the fastest way I know for a Website to be removed from a "Favorites" listing and for it to become the subject of an article on social media.

So, a formerly trusted site is putting up pop-up ads when I am not connected to them and when I attempt to write to the site the posting mechanism is broken. Does anyone have any suggestions or do I need to roll the Registry back?
