What RUS had already accomplished via its surrogates in Trump camp: short of rerun of elxn, even a post-impeachment Pence has no mandate.

GOP's existing radical anti-Obama, anti-gov agenda already compromises their ability to govern as seen in repeated, pointless gov shutdowns.

But now, having won all three branches via a compromised elxn, they've been gifted poisoned fruit. Two scenarios possible from here...

1. GOP radicals push fwd extremist agenda, despite illegitimacy and unpopularity of such moves (e.g. dismantling ACA).

2. Moderates reclaim party, after ousting Trump, and form essentially a "gov of national salvation," adopting a technical mandate till 2020.

Even scenario 2, however, comes w high likelihood of extremist dissent (Tea Partiers, militias, assorted far right, parts of GOP base).

Scenario 1 will create utter chaos, that will fundamentally undermine popular trust and faith in democratic institutions in the US.
