I can't go back to play Skyrim after experiencing an actual open world where your actions have an impact on the development of the world, with every sidequest having better plot than Skyrim's main plot and actual cutscenes with plenty of characters.

I've played over 100 hours of Skyrim and the only characters I remember are Ulfric,Tulius,Jaarl Balgruf and Alduin, nobody else sorry.
TW3 ? I even remember minor characters that had 1 sidequest at most lol.

Let's even talk about how Bethesda did nothing to improve the open world with their mediocre DLCS and chose to rely on Modders doing their jobs for them.

After playing through the Witcher 3 twice and then popping Skyrim back in today I was just thinking the same thing.

Skellige>Skyrim

Don't even get me started on the pathetic state of Fallout 4's choices and endings. The only thing skyrim has over the Witcher 3 is the ability to play as a mage, warrior, or thief because in the Witcher you are stuck playing as the witcher Geralt.
I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

It was the story, witcher 3 story got an edge, but flexibility and armor,n weapons still with Skyrim. An example of a weak storyline, the Dawnguard quest, it is draggy and the plot had too much loopholes. The job is to prevent the townspeople from getting killed by the vampires but in the end , you are forced to befriend a rogue vampire and see his dad powers demonstration by stripping infront of you into a loincloth gym dude" behold my power!" .Seriously if that is not silly, i was having a laugh with that scene. If that master vampire wants to show off his powers, he should have dropped in a cage with 10 buffed knights and killed them all within 10 seconds.
I agree. I bought the SE of Skyrim because I had never played the dlcs and slogged through DG so the vampire attacks would stop. Luckily after that ordeal it is proving to be a much more enjoyable experience but it isn't on par with TW3 by any means. I enjoyed the Witcher so much it actually prompted me to buy all the books, though I haven't played the previous 2 games.

There are certain things that just go with the territory in a Bethesda game: a main quest you don't care about, a large worldspace to explore with lots of nooks and crannies, and annoying RNG features that range from the vampire attacks of Dawnguard to almost everything Settlement-related in Fallout 4.

The Witcher was pretty good.

I like both TW3 and Skyrim, and I think they're different enough to not be comparable, but I've been burned alive for that opinion.

I'm actually dead now.

I just can't get into witcher. I know I'm gonna generate heat for saying that so I might as well make it nuclear and say I also didn't like Last of Us. But I digress.

I'd rather play an open world fantasy game with a handful of glaring problems but allows me the freedom to make my own character and shape them the way I want in terms of playstyle (mage warrior, archer, hybrid, etc), than an otherwise perfect open world fantasy game that forces me to play as a boring chode. I simply couldn't stand Geralt to the point that if I played the game anymore I would have just perpetually committed suicide because I was rooting for him to die.

How far are these apart?
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, if they get angry, they'll be a mile away... and barefoot.

It'd only become nuclear if you claimed that Joel from TLoU was a boring character. That game is an example of characterization and story done right. The gameplay on the other hand may not agree with everyone.

As it is, W3 is a fantastic game aside from the lack of character and playstyle customization. You get a few choices but in the end you are doing nearly the same thing in nearly the same ways for the whole of the progression of your character for every single play through.

W3 has some replayability due to the multiple choices you have, but you can't create completely different characters that can have rich and diverse backgrounds with varying levels of ability.

W3 is a story based RPG with an open world. Elder Scrolls is an open world rpg with story elements. It makes them completely different games. W3 is focuses on telling a story while Elder scrolls focuses on the open rpg elements. People prefer one or the other. It's like asking whether a tomato or peach is better. They are both fruits but they each have their place and styles.
