While its been said time and again, the recent Meryl Streep speech feud has really shown something that's been infuriating me about both Trump and his supporters for a long time. They talk big talk about "drinking liberal tears" and gloating about how they "won" (as if the most important event in a democracy is a fucking sports game), yet the moment their precious messiah is challenged, they bitch and whine in large numbers, because they're pathetic cowards individually.
And the worst thing about this mob mentality is how their only real argument is accusing critics of being whiny crybabies, when their idol and god-figure feels the need to defend his fragile ego anytime someone so much as insinuates that he's done something wrong, like a petulant child insisting that he didn't do anything wrong.
This cult-like behaviour of willing ignorance and double think is like something straight out of 1984, but a willing and self-inflicted form of it. Its disturbing to watch people be pathetic enough to degrade themselves to such levels.
