Everything appears to be running like clockwork for Manchester United as the domestic season progresses into its latter half.
Following a slow start under Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils finally appear to have found a comfortable rhythm, and Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Championship outfit Reading proved – if nothing else – how easily the Portuguese head coach’s side can dismantle teams at a canter.
Nonetheless, this victory will have hardly come as a surprise to regular Premier League viewers, who have witnessed the Red Devils, slowly but surely, find their groove throughout the opening months of the 2016/17 campaign, resulting in streak of success that has fallen somewhat under the radar…
Win, after win, and so on, has resulted in an impressive eight consecutive victories across all competitions – a feat the club have been unable to achieve since September 2009, during the glory days of Sir Alex Ferguson. That’s over seven years ago!
8 – @ManUtd have won eight consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since September 2009. Revival.

Despite the Premier League giant’s recent form, there is an expectation that there is plenty more to come. The Old Trafford outfit are a long way from top gear – especially considering some of the talent at Mourinho’s disposal – and their top flight rivals should be very wary as we approach the business end of the campaign.
A top four finish appears the likely end result for Manchester United, having given themselves plenty to do. Nonetheless, Jose Mourinho, himself, will be far more optimistic.
