128 MUFC u15's were looked at from the period 2003-2012.
MUFC U15's had over this period a 15.6% chance of playing a game for the first team. 20 players making 393 total appearances and counting.
MUFC U15's had over this period a 5.5% chance of playing atleast 10 games for the first team. Totaling 7 players.
42.1% of MUFC U15's from the period 2003-2009 were deemed to have "made it" in football, that makes 35 out of a possible 83 players, the base criteria for this is playing atleast 50 games for full time professional clubs. However exceptions were made for very young players who are close to that mark and still playing regularly or older pros with a long career as back up (Luke Hendrie and Matt Edwards for example.) Players from 2010-2012 aren't included because they're still too young to judge how successful they've been.
51.8% of players from the period 2003-2009 played atleast 1 professional game in a recognised competitive competition making is 43 out of the 83 players.
Please note, there are some players that are still at the club but haven't yet played for the first team which makes the 15.6% chance of ever playing a competitive game for the first team that I stated as slightly lower than it perhaps in reality is. Think Sam Johnstone and Axel Tuanzebe etc, who could well increase that figure.
Not all MUFC u15's were included in this study, however no cherry picking took place, it was just the squads that were registered to go to the Marveld Tournament each year. Any player that went twice was counted only once. Guest players or trialists weren't included - the most notable being a recent Napoli signing.
