I've noticed that there's a lot of hate towards walking simulator video games. These are the games where you just wander through a world, exploring a story or the world itself or what have you. Gone Home and Firewatch are some of the best examples of the genre, and I love them. Really, it's one of my favourite genres to play just because it lets you get so immersed in a story, even if the story isn't always that plausible or great. It's partly why the sheer amount of hate these games get baffles me. I mean, I don't like combat shooters like CoD or Battlefront, but I don't call them a scourge on the face of gaming and the thing that going to ruin games for everyone. I'm curious if the hate for walking simulators is common, and if so, why? What do people think of these little games?

pretty cool, probably not comprehensive but definitely worth a look. The Mexaca and teotihuacan sections are alot larger though

/r/Europe accused me of being a Russian propagandist for posting a funny Ukrainian video about Santa, which was quite weird. Incidentally I also tried out a couple of Russian lessons on Duolingo and I can't wrap my head around that wacky tobacky alphabet. Sorry Putin, I have failed you.

I've also been playing a lot of Battlefield 1 and I've been having a blast, great game. It's probably even better if you're less pedantic than I am and don't get annoyed about all the submachine guns and inexplicable African snipers.
