I got banned from AskMRP--a sub in which I have never posted--half an hour after I posted this comment.

Yeah, I guess. They strike me as sort of pathetic anyway. What they want most they cannot have.

The MRP dudes mostly strike me as chemo patients mostly concerned about hair loss. The marriage is dying and they're focusing on a symptom of the disease, not a cause or a cure.

Yeah, I'm actually kinda surprised the BPP stolen valor rolls over other guys there.

I think having been enlisted is a real thing, with real consequences, that should be talked about. I can't really think of anything grosser than someone feigning service, even in this detached analogy way, to try to be afforded that respect.

It's just fucking gross. I think he's just desperately grasping for authority now. I'm kinda into affording soldiers respect and me shutting the heck up, (if I know they are soldiers) - but not wanting to give automatic respect, at all, to fake soldiers like BPP. He does not deserve any extra government given respect and he is trying to steal it.

*clarified

If this debate is on the better MRE or keeping your M320 detached, please defer to service members.

If the debate is on foreign military deployments, weapon systems funding, or foreign treaties, please consult your conscience.

Please no 'shutting the fuck up': source: guy who might deploy

Ok, thank you. I want to think on that.

My wording is a mess right now but I do want to try to give respect to people who take a lot more chances and risks, in regard to service, than I ever will. I think a lot of people were raised with the concept of not questioning soldiers, and I guess I just sort of get that.

I think BPP is trying to captialize on the respect people want to give to soldiers, without ever having done a lick of that in his life.
