Why though. What moments caught you? It's clear to see the names. But why them. What moment grabbed you and made you say "him"?

Roy Keane amazed me as a kid. How much he seemed to care. His leadership was really inspirational

He made me fall in love with the beautiful game and he was the reason I started supporting United. I have many fond memories, including that free kick against Portsmouth, and I was devastated when he left for Real Madrid.

Sir Alex, and Becks.

Rooney. Been annoyed by him a few times recently but he's still probably my all time favourite United player, with Scholes behind him. So happy he equaled the record, hope that he breaks it, if not against Hull, then against Liverpool

Rooney at first. He was the reason i started watching United. But after watching old matches and reading about the history of the club, especially the class of '92, Giggs has been and will always be my idol

Watching Becks on sunday morning TV and playing United on ISS Pro.

I hated football until I was 18 (1998) and a friend got me into it through video games and watching big tournaments first and later league matches. So thanks Nico.

Got to be Beckham, when I was really young and only just starting to watch and play football I already knew Becks. One of few players who really transcended football.

Cantona.

He just had something I'd never seen before, that silky swagger, and a fierce determination to win, a catalyst for what was to come. Didn't win half as much as some of the other players but is still a certified United legend.

Cantona for me. He just oozed Class.

It's Gary Neville for me. The man had a passion for the game and the club that we might not see again for a long time. Add to that that he was one of the best right backs in the world for a long time - that man could defend and deliver a peach of a cross. Was a pleasure watching him play.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy. He is unlucky not to win more with man united. Absolute beast in terms goal scoring.

Éric Daniel Pierre Cantona

I was around 7 or 8 when we signed King Eric. I immediately was caught up in the fervor and persona of the man. He was larger than life and helped make the same true for United in my eyes. I don't know if I would be the fan I am today if he hadn't been brought in. Synchronicity.

As a funny side story, my parents had to sit me down and make sure I understood the kick incident was shameful and nothing to use as an example for a young man. I had to use superheroes/Batman as a metaphor to convince them I got it.

Rooney. My favorite player of all time. Fuck the haters, Rooney is and will be always be a United legend.
