Sam Johnstone looked solid - his kicking in particular but also having enough confidence in himself not to commit too early.

Amavi seems to be regressing defensively - the second goal really exposed how poor he can be.

I'm still not sure what Bruce sees in Gabby.

After seeing Spurs dismantle Chelsea mid week, overall I'm happy that we limited them to only two goals.

Amavi really isn't the player I thought he was.

He was given a torrid time against Luton. When he's good he's great, but when he's having an off day any player can get joy out of him

Maybe Tony should've taken that alleged £25 million bid?

Why can't we find a good left-back? The best one we've had was Bouma, but that's like what, 10 years ago?

I'm really sick of watching Gabby. He wasn't terrible today but we need to be doing better and I don't think he can. I just can't see why he is starting.

Ah well, we managed to hold our own for 70mins against a team made up mostly of Premier League quality players. Davis and Green getting minutes is nice. Sucks to be out of the cup but there's definite positives to not having to deal with the extra games. And we didn't quite get smashed as badly as we all thought we would. Having Kodjia would have given us a real shot assuming he had a good game. Also Johnstone had a good game.

brilliant away support tonight

Johnstone made some solid saves, his kicking seemed good and he didn't make any glaring mistakes. Pretty solid defensive showing, and losing was fairly inevitable

Good to see some fight from the lads. Need to do the same in Championship games. Good energy right up until the final whistle. Love Grealish needs to start more often.

I can't get over home poor the Spurs support was. I know most away fans are a boisterous bunch but to not share some banter I was slightly embarrassed for them.

Proud of our lads, lots of positives to take from that.

Didn't see it. How'd we do?

I notice people in the match thread changing their mind over Johnstone. Better than Gollini, then?

Didn't really venture out of our half. Solid defensively (though we were basically playing 6 at the back).

Didn't really venture out of our half

I don't understand, were we playing rush goalie?

Frustrated them for the majority of the match, came close with some set pieces but were overcome by their quality in the end.

Its early days, but he looks like a tough solid guy, and I think he was vocal and organised his defense well in combination with Chester. Seems very cool.

Not too much to whinge about really.

The keeper even answered my "what's the point" signing.

If we have any slim hopes of making the play offs..That's the result we needed.

Pleased we weren't destroyed by premiership contenders, nice to see we can hold ourselves. Two defeats is fine, we'll roar back. I'm Bruce we trust.

Thanks to the away support for their constant representation of the club, you lot are marvels

Lot of positives from that game.

It's a bit depressing that this performance is something we can be reasonably proud of atm, but that's just the state of our club.

But there definitely were a few positives but for me it can't outshine our distinct lack if creativity against any level of opponent. We desperately need a midfield.
