Like many MGTOW, I enjoy studying biology, science, natural law, etc.. So my ears perked up when I was listening to a a few different podcasts and doing some research on developmental biology. I'm a biochemist, and know a thing or two about pharmacokinetics, hormones, [biological] development, and the chemistry at play in the brain.
And it occurs to me that there is a simple way of controlling libido which is naturally occurring, which, perhaps, a man could leverage in going his own way...
Simply put; disgust is one of the best ways of controlling sexuality.
I work in immunology currently and over the years I've seen some studies on mate selection and complementarity of the variable region of the heavy and light chains of immunoglobulin to see the widest array of antigens (greater ability to fight off infections of various origins). In those studies a double blind is set up whereby scent alone the genders can identify the most genetically attractive mates - because of the immune system and the breakdown and expression of proteins on cell surfaces.
In short; sexual partners smell good when you match genetically.
Alternatively; bad genetic compliments smell (sexually) disgusting.
In developmental biology there is actually a phenomenon that takes place during a window of childhood wherein the scent of closely related individuals (and even childhood friends) becomes sexually un-arousing (or less arousing). The negative valence is due to sexual development in the brain and is thought to be a safeguard against inbreeding.
This is best studied in rats and mice due to the size of their nose-brains (the rhinencephalon), and their status as a model organism.
However, worth noting - the rhinencephalon is the limbic system in humans... the emotional center of the human mind and brain. Damage to the limbic system causes emotional disturbances (disconnecting the frontal cortex from the limbic system is a frontal lobotomy).
The limbic system (or nose-brain, if you prefer the original name) is strongly associated with smell, but, in humans, has been re-purposed for emotional processing. As such, we have a number of spandrels, such as "turning one's nose up at someone". Emotional disgust is related to bad smells, physiologically speaking.
In lab rats smell is a way of life. The ethology of rats dictates a worldview informed by smell; does it smell like I can eat it? Does it smell like I can fuck it? Does it smell like a predator? Does it smell like home? Etc. The emotions of a rat are highly dependent on aromas. If a rat is disgusted by something, then it won't have sex with it. At some point even the corpse of the rats' best sexual partners begins to smell putrid at which point it loses all necrophilia toward what was a genetic match.
In short; emotional disgust is physiologically akin to smelling something bad. Disgust turns even the most tempting stimuli into revulsion.
Revulsion (negative valence) is key to sexual selection.
For instance, theoretically there is nothing wrong with homosexuality, however the majority of heterosexual men feel strong negative valence toward homosexual advances, and will push away. Disgust plays a huge role in whither or not a particular thing is sexually arousing or sexually repulsive.
During the third trimester a flood of hormones shapes the brain of a fetus into a male brain or a female brain. During this time sexuality in lab rats (and mice) can be irreversibly altered at will by an experimenter. The limbic system and sexually dimorphic nuclei (specifically the preoptic sexually dimorphic nucleus in humans) - is developed for future sexual orientation.
In short; the brain is hardwired during developmental milestones to find some things arousing and other things disgusting
However, there is cross-talk between brain regions! Your prefrontal cortex is connected to the limbic system and the the rest of the brain through various circuits.
Interpretation, in the cognitive sense, takes place outside of the instinctually hardwired region. While you may be hardwired to find big tits, a healthy butt, and signs of fertility to be sexually attractive - you can still interpret women to be disgusting. Going against your instinct can be interesting...
Personal thoughts:
The natural revulsion to the unnatural can be overcome and wielded for power over the biological script.
It is unnatural to subvert your sexual urges... but it's also unnatural to type on a computer, and read from a glowing screen, nor is it natural to control your fertility (by proxy) with birth control, condoms, vasectomies, etc.
This power over biology is intoxicating and one of the reasons I love biochemistry; to have power over the substance of life - to make medicines, to improve humanity, to understand nature.
I would also note that shame and the use of guilt is the tool of those without power: those without sexual power will shame you for having sexual power. If you masturbate they will call you a wanker. If you buy prostitutes they will call you a creep who pays for sex. If you master your libido they will call you a sexless-neckbeard-basement-dwelling-virgin-creepy-manchild-autistic-faggot-otaku-wimp-pussy-dickless-eunuch-something regardless of how you transmute your sexual power (even if you become a fit, rich, independent, intelligent, powerful man - you will still have envious haters). Shame is for the slaves.
Using the tool of disgust toward women can provide the equal and opposite reaction to the attractive positive valence of biological imperatives. You may achieve, as Stardusk would have said, escape velocity - if your repulsion to women is strong enough. Then, with freedom, you can rewrite your script. And with enough power and knowledge you might even be able to make yourself a superman, of sorts... which, as we know, is monstrous. As a hulking monstrosity, you can do whatever you want (which is beyond good and evil at that point, since you can create new values once you're free of old values).
Knowledge is power.
