One thing that I haven't seen talked about much here is that MANY democrats have been talking about "dropping identity politics". Giving off the feel of a "do you want to be right? Or do you want to win?" Notion. I'm sorry, but I want to be right AND win.

Since Trump's win, I've seen many people on democrat forums and fb pages saying they're contacting their local politicians asking to "tone down the push of identity politics". This is bad. If identity politics are dropped, civil rights could regress, not as bad with a republican president, but it would heavily damage it.

I'm so sick of fellow dems wanting to appease these racists and facists. I want Donald out of office more than anything, but do not compromise the morals of the Democratic Party just to get that to happen.

There is some truth to this. Dems cannot abandon their diverse constituency because they WILL be under unprecedented assault from this new administration...whether it's Trump going after DREAMERs and deporting immigrant families or attacking Muslim communities, Jeff Sessions new "Justice" department going to war against voting rights and civil rights laws, Trump court appointments attacking LGBT rights and reproductive rights, Paul Ryan going after planned parenthood or Mike Penis going after non christians, women and LGBT people in the name of JEEZUS! The Democratic Party has GOT to keep standing for identity politics because minorities need someone to protect them. This is one of the most vile, openly bigoted administrations in nearly 100 years. We can't abandon its victims. That would be wrong.

So many times I've seen the MSM ask the "hypothetical" question of "is it time for democrats to shift focus to white voters?" And every time I want to grab the author or anchor, shake them, and yell NO
