Well, he wont leave even if he isn't wanted, so yes, he is, in a way, back in the club's plans.

The club told him to leave in August, he said no even though the club had a plan to sell him to another club.

He sat at home collecting a fat check while making it seem as if he would go to the MLS in this transfer window.

Mourinho said that Schweinsteiger says he isn't leaving, and Mourinho has always stated that he doesn't sell players who don't want to go.

So, yes, in a way, Schweinsteiger forced Mourinho's hand to put him back in his plans, but he isn't wanted at the club at those monstrous wages.
