Obama’s Message to Republicans: ‘Vladimir Putin is Not on Our Team’

In the wake of receiving an intelligence report detailing how Russia interfered in the election, President Barack Obama spoke to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos for an exclusive interview.

He explained how the Russian government “intended to meddle and they meddled” in the election. He then took aim at Republicans, specifically in the media, who appear to be siding with Russia.

“One of the things I am concerned about is the degree to which we’ve seen a lot of commentary lately where there are Republicans or pundits or cable commentators who seem to have more confidence in Vladimir Putin than fellow Americans because those fellow Americans are Democrats,” he told the ABC host.

After adding “that cannot be,” Obama wouldn’t directly answer if he was talking about President-elect Donald Trump. However, he would say that we all have to come together.

“What I will say is that, and I said that after the election, we have to remind ourselves that we’re on the same team,” POTUS said. “Vladimir Putin is not on our team.”

Obama received the classified version of the report on Thursday while Trump was briefed this afternoon.
