Hello. As we all know, Michael Carrick is slowly losing the ability to keep up with the constant schedule of the Premier League and all the other competitions. Since someone with his qualities can be the difference between winning and losing, one of our primary needs in terms of transfers is someone who can fill his shoes in the midfield.
My question is - since Bastian Shweinsteiger is a couple years younger than Michael but plays a similar brand of football, could he work in that middle slot when Carrick is not fit. This could be until we find a prospect to transfer or a player from the academy (Sean Goss?)
It seems like Bastian is happy to stay and play. Maybe Jose can put the man to good use.
