I'm killing time till 5pm for the 100 mile journey to pick up my 8 year old daughter for the weekend, and watching a couple of Mad Men reruns. There's this scene where Don's wife Megan and his daughter Sally are sitting on the floor ostensibly doing an acting exercise... learning to cry on demand.
I was instantly reminded of doing the same thing a couple of years ago with my daughter practicing our different reaction faces. Sad, happy, scared etc...
I recall being struck at the time with the ease with which she not only mastered the techniques involved immediately, but also the concept itself of choosing the emotional message she could convey... on demand.
I can't recall anything like this from my own childhood, or from raising my now grown son either. But with my daughter it seemed very natural... very human so to speak. In fact, I don't think it ever occurred to me to contrive an emotional reaction for any reason other than that's how I actually felt, and I of course never suspected that others might being doing so as well until later in life.
I think this begs the question of just how much of female behaviour is actually based real reactions, and how much is purely contrived.
We all know the kind of manipulations women are capable of and have seen many examples. But just how contrived are we talking here? Could the whole business potentially be a wholecloth fabrication? We can't know of course... but given the very shallow nature of the vast majority of females, can any of their shit possibly be real?
What about sex?
How would you feel if you knew that every orgasm... every quivering, squirting screaming climax was just a fabrication? We know from biology that the clusters of nerve endings certainly produce pleasure... but what does it mean for a woman to have an orgasm? It's certainly different than what I experience at the very least.
How many of you could imagine not being able to orgasm during vaginal intercourse?
Apparently around 3/4 of women can't.
All sounds like a bunch of delusional horseshit to me.
ABC News Reports "About 75 percent of all women never reach orgasm from intercourse alone -- that is without the extra help of sex toys, hands or tongue. And 10 to 15 percent never climax under any circumstances."
