I wouldn't mind him playing a couple here and there for the sake of rotating but i agree that he would be a living united legend in the dressingroom and he could show the lads what it really means to be a united player!

If we're serious about Shaw and CBJ, then having someone like Evra to coach them in the coming years (as well as any other duties he performs for the club) would be amazing.

For the next few months, I don't know, we have EFL Cup, FA Cup, Europa League, and PL - would it really hurt to have him? Some games we'll be completely on top of the opposition, we know Shaw can get injured, it might not be so bad to have Evra for those kinds of games to just attack with Martial/Lingard/Rooney down the left.

Finally, I don't think his passion could harm the dressing room. We can still achieve so much this season, it could be a good boost for the youngsters & the old timers like Rooney & Carrick...

Hahahaha. Darmian is not a LB. can't blame him much.

Init, I feel bad for him man, he's dreadful when he plays there.

We can do a lot better than current level Evra.

This is such a Milan or Inter style move.

We are one of the richest clubs in the world, why sign way past it 35 year olds?

If Jose doesn't rate our current LB's we should sign Ricardo Rodriguez or someone else who's top quality either now or in the summer.

We don't know as of yet whether he will be playing or be part of the back room staff. If he would be playing, then I perfectly agree with you. Also note that, the spot is only temporal as we have a permanent LB is Luke Shaw who's just facing tough times with injuries.

I think there's a very good chance Mourinho doesn't see Shaw as being good enough long term but that's another discussion.

I expect us to sign a first choice left back in the summer.

That's taking into account that we end up paying a fortune for him, which we won't. He's a squaddie at Juve and hasn't exactly lit the world on fire this or last season, i suspect if he mentioned he's open to the move it wouldn't be a huge deal, then come summer we could go in hard.

We're Manchester United though.

We're not in it for value, we're not in it to win the Net Spend Trophy.

We're in it to win the Premier League and the UCL.

Patrice Evra in 2017 doesn't help you do that. He's not better than our current options, he's not good enough to play for us now or where we want to be.

We have more than enough money that we don't need to be looking in the bargain bin, we should be looking at the best left back in the world who will agree to sign for us (whoever that might be) and Evra is definitely not that.

then come summer we could go in hard.

But Evra isn't even a stop gap, he's not even good enough for that anymore. He isn't better than Shaw, Blind or even Darmian.

Ibra is an example of a good stop gap signing where the perfect player isn't available so we signed a player who massively improves us now even if it's not long term.

Evra isn't that. He's a third choice backup that we don't especially need.

I certainly don't disagree that Shaw and Blind could be improved on, but Evra isn't that player at 35.
