Probably not, it seems like Mourinho is changing his tactics if needed but Pep seems a bit stubborn like van Gaal which could kill him.

Pep would have been excellent for United, but in hindsight, Mourinho would be more preferred due to the fact that he has PL experience with Chelsea. You can see that Pep is starting to notice that the PL is tougher than La Liga and Bundesliga due to higher competition and the winter scheduling. Plus, Mourinho has mentioned his dream was to manage United, and it's noticeable to see that he is enjoying it as much as we are

van Gaal's football was enough to make me hate possession football.

After SAF's retirement, Pep was my number one choice, but that changed after watching us play possession football under van Gaal.

In hindsight, I would still have taken him in a heartbeat instead of Moyes. I'm sure he would have been a far better successor to Fergie than him and perhaps some of the pain of the last few years could have been avoided.

Having said that, given the situation we are in now would I swap tomorrow for Pep? No. Mourinho has taken to the job well, he's looked at home from the minute he walked in the door. He understands the club in a way that most managers/people don't. He's shown a willingness to adapt and change and to adopt the cultures of the club, on and off the field. Pep is quality, but Jose has earned massive respect so far, even ignoring performances on the pitch (which have also been steadily improving since his arrival).

No. I don't get a good feeling about him, I don't think he has any fight in him whatsoever & cracks are already starting to show at city. I think his tactics are far to expansive for a league as competitive and unpredictable as the EPL and I don't think he values the virtues of actual defending (a slight hint of continental elitism in that). He's like LVG in terms of how sometimes you'd be scratching your head at the sheer arrogance in a lot of his decisions, & that's how City fans are feeling now.

Lastly, I think it says a lot of the competition in Spain that non-elite mangers like Enrique & Zidane do well. A lot of Barca fans don't even like Enrique & for me he isn't even top 20 in the world, same goes for Zidane. You could argue that Pep built (or at least tweaked) the system that allows such a manager to look good despite archaic decisions and stupid signings, but the truth is the competition isn't half as fierce as it is in England. I think he'll leave without winning a single title.

Mourinho knows the league, has done it CL with teams that doesn't have the best player in the world, and both of them don't stay at clubs for long so don't even talk about the long term thing.

also fuck possession football i don't want to see that shit ever again.

After SAF's retirement in 2013, my first choice would have been Pep, 2nd choice would have been Mourinho.

Earlier last season, my first choice would have still been Pep to take over from LVG, Mourinho as a 2nd choice. He would have been the perfect manager to build on LVG's "boring possession".

Don't get me wrong, given the circumstances, absolutely delighted to have Mourinho, but I'd have to admit if we could have gotten Pep, I'd have preferred it.
