About this project
HoverHandBoard is a patent pending product that has taken many years to get were it is today, working tirelessly on perfecting the PCB board to integrate new touch sensor technology, gyros and making the unique air dynamic case, this is the hand-held interactive Hoverboard; A first in touch sensitivity controlled drones! You control the board with the touch of the hand, no cables or attachments, just you, your imagination and the board.
If you remember the popular 90's toy the Fingerboard or the Handboard then skip forward 20 years and this is an Octocopter Handboard with built in gyros and sensors, the perfect companion, whether you are siting down, standing or walking along, it turns everything in front of you into a track!
Touch the board and the propellers generate a strong lift that balances against your fingers, the board becomes a Hoverboard for your hand.
The board generates full lift against your hand. You can push the board down away from your fingers and regain balance when the board comes back to your fingers; kick flips, 180's, 360's, under objects, pass the HoverHandBoard mid air to someone to balance.
The HoverHandBoard has a built in gyro, an electronic device that senses angular velocity, this sensor provides stability and direction, helping the board balance under your hand, using your fingers to move the board you have ideal manoeuvrability to ride along, perform tricks and adjust the speed.
The Touch Sensitivity. Tap once to hover and twice to fly! With a sensitive touch pad on the top of the deck leading to the capacitive touch sensor integrated in the PCB board. With this Touch-sensing technology it operates the propellers with physical contact, adding more fun and functionality to your Hover Hand-boarding.
Touch-sensing technology can be configured for more or less sensitivity, this has allowed the board to work well with user contact. Touch sensors are able to respond differently to different kinds of touch, such as tapping and swiping.
With the HoverHandboard Touch sensor you can let the board glide away from you and then regaining control.

The Factory we are working with in China to produce the Hoverhand is a large toy product company that specialize in Drone/Quadcopter. After reviewing a lot of factories I got in contact with a worker, Mr Nemo Yi, we became friends over the next 4 years and started building the HoverHand prototype. The factory has a lot of experience in R/C drones, quality products and were able to create exactly what was needed.

Tricks Every Beginner HoverHandboarder can learn:
The 180 was the first trick I was able to perform with the HoverHand Board, then 360, reminds me of flair bartending. Passing under objects like a table to catch it on the other side was a bit trickier, passing the HoverHand Board to a work colleague mid air is fun, especially when it starts getting faster and faster.
Risks and challenges
Having a trustworthy team is the main key and after working on the prototype for years with the same people and toy company, risks and challenges for this project are making sure the final product meets everyone's expectations.
I wanted to get this product to the market on the 21st of October 2015, that was my goal, but I was still working on the design and saving for patents and prototypes.
The risks we face are setting up the business! my partner has studied as a business manager and from 2017 we are focusing fully on The HoverHandBoard, making it in to a well known brand, along with our great team and the help from your Kickstarter pledges we are ready to create this HOVERHANDBOARD and give you something new and exciting.
