There's a democratic policy to approve the Head Mod for a reason.

We tried it. And I would ask that nobody put LePigNexus through the hell I went through in the last few days by attacking his appointment. We tried the election process and we were stopped.

This obstructionism only forces Moderation to do things in ways that won't make you happy.

Clarify?

He tried to resign once before and was met with serious resistance from people saying his resignation wasn't legal in the first place and oh also neither is Divexz's he's Head Moderator also.

That doesn't mean that you should bypass it altogether. I would rather have it require approval from a public referendum then just being given a new head mod.

LePig is Head Moderator. If I cared to, I could cite exactly why this is legal. But I know you will not give a flying expletive. YOU did your part running me out of my office, and it started much like this.

You find a functioning, large scale online community that handles administration democratically - that lets people override the moderators. See how that flies on say, AskReddit. See how that flies on Steam.

It doesn't work.

Moderators are not politicians. The power they have is supposed to be great, but it is focused. They run the sub, the run the discord and handle the behind the scenes management. They are the "GMs" of the subreddit. They are not to influence politics.

This push for reining in the mods for non-existent corruption is toxic. It is dangerous. You will shut down the sub if it keeps going. You will break every single person who gets into that office, until you finally get someone who is so corrupt and lawless it won't matter.

Maybe the problem is that people see the recall process mentioned and believe that means moderation is just another political group. But the entire point of that recall part for mods is a fail safe against political influence of moderation - which is what people are trying to force on them.

You have no argument here. The Constitution doesn't require a referendum. I did. And now, that is no longer welcomed here. This sub cannot have it both ways. The administration needs to administrate, outside of the game and outside of nitpicking and stupid games.

I bypassed nothing, and I basically forced this office on LePigNexus. You have an issue with it, you point it at me, and I will not change my stance. Stay within the game, do not attack the subreddit itself.

What was the exact text of the emergency amendment?

[–]ragan651Deputy Moderator | People's Front of Housia | City Council[S] 2 ポイント3 ポイント  (10子コメント)

Add Article 1 section 2 h

The Head Moderator may choose to abdicate their position to one of the deputy moderators, taking their place as Deputy Moderator. Should a Head Moderator do this, they may not return as Head Moderator or Acting Head Moderator for at least 60 days.

Any other position may be resigned and unless otherwise specified, a replacement chosen by the office holder to finish the term.

If the amendment fails, might that affect the legitimacy of LePigNexus's authority?

[–]ragan651Deputy Moderator | People's Front of Housia | City Council[S] 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (8子コメント)

The amendment is active tonight. If it fails, it does not fail retroactively.

[–]dommitorJustice | Grand Narwhal | Knight 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (7子コメント)

Yes. It does not retroactively fail, meaning that LePigNexus is Head Moderator for the next three days. After that, it is unclear.

[–]ragan651Deputy Moderator | People's Front of Housia | City Council[S] 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Not this. I don't want to deal with any more of this. Please for God sake do not put him through what I have been through.

[–]dommitorJustice | Grand Narwhal | Knight 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Way to jump the gun. I am not putting them through anything.

I'm just following the Constitution to its logical conclusions, and asking questions where I think there might be arguments (as Democracitizens seem to love to have). Does it hurt to think in advance?

[–]LePigNexusHead Moderator 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Legally it's very clear, whether the public likes it or not, I'm now Head Moderator, regardless of the passing or failing of this amendment, which means that my appointment will likely be considered illegitimate, regardless of the outcome. I have a possible solution to deal with this however.

[–]JozeevisFCL | Memechester City Council 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (2子コメント)

How would it be unclear afterwards? If it does not retroactively fail, as you said, that would mean that the switch happened legitimately regardless of whether the amendment stays after the three days, meaning that LePig will remain as Head Moderator.

[–]LePigNexusHead Moderator 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Exactly, but the legitimacy of my appointment could be questioned because of how it was done, through an emergency amendment that cannot be failed retroactively, so there's nothing the public can do about it. I have a possible solution in the works for this however.

[–]ragan651Deputy Moderator | People's Front of Housia | City Council[S] 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Because some people want to flex their muscles over moderation. It's crystal clear, as was the legitimacy of resignation in the first place.

I put LePig in a vulnerable spot, and out will come the wolves to challenge that. I ask that the community call out the BS before it takes this place over and runs him out of office as it did me.

Meaning it cannot be used again, everything is clear.

I for one welcome LePigNexus, and have faith in his ability to keep everything together. I believe he will be a worthy successor.
