He is, my problem is when he does make mistakes it costs us BIG time.

West Ham last season if we won we'd have got into the CL ahead of City.

Manchester Derby earlier this season.

I don't want to be overly critical of him, because he looks fantastic a lot of the time. Just think that every now and again things just go to shit for us because of him.

I agree, he has been one of our most consitent and in my opinion he's one of the most underrated players we have. But the match on Saturday was the first time in ages where I thought Blind had a below average game.

it's probably won't be a popular opinion, but even through the down-votes i'll state it for discussion.

blind has attacking qualities none of our defenders posses.

jones and bailey can start attacks from the back by running, but they lack the passing qualities blind possess.

valencia is a bigger attacking threat in the box due to his speed and agility, but his crosses are lacking.

rojo, darmian, smalling and injured shaw(before the injury it was different), cant attack well.

so against bottom half teams, where another attacking minded player can be the difference between breaking the parking bus, he's and excellent reinforcement.

but if we face a higher quality team or a fast winger, we can play with him. if he's in a 1-1 against a pacy attacker, we're in big trouble.

De-bruyne slaughtered him in our city game, he was embarrassed by Traore where Fred just by luck didn't set boro ahead in our last game.

i also remember his WBA game last season where he gave rondon space to score.

so for conclusion, blind isn't good enough against better teams but is a force to be reckoned with against lower teams. he's versatility as lb/cb/cdm is also good, but we have player's like fosu-mensah who can fill that gap.

He needs some consistent game time to get back in his stride. Also noticed his passing was a bit off in the 'Boro game.
