Trump’s press secretary Sean Spicer was on ABC’s This Week and discussed the Russian’s hack, but he ducked and dived, brought up the president-elect’s supposed 5,000 jobs moved from abroad after speaking to the head of Sprint. Trump touted his success from that deal even though he deserves no credit for it.
Spicer tried to deflect from Trump’s tweets and that he uses social media to lavish praise on Vladimir Putin.
“So the idea is everyone wants to talk about the tweets he sent,” he said. “But I would actually focus on the action he’s getting. Donald Trump is not president yet and he’s getting action, successes and wins, both abroad and here at home.”
Later he said, “And instead of trying to mock him or undermine him, it’s time that people started to give him credit for actually getting things done.”
As we reported here:
Sprint had actually cut some 2,500 U.S. jobs earlier this year. A company spokeswoman told Politico the 5,000 jobs will be a combination of new positions and others that are being brought back to the U.S. from other countries. She also confirmed that the positions were part of the 50,000 job commitment SoftBank had made earlier in the year.
Trump is mocked for many reasons. He recently tried to take credit for President Obama’s economy. He lashes out at others on Twitter. After running a thoroughly disgusting campaign, Spicer wants us to stand behind Donald Trump. Trump wished everyone a Happy New Year’s Eve, even his “enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love!” Then he tweeted a different message for New Year’s Day, as if his staffers panicked and told him to include “All Americans.” Trump wants to start a nuclear arms race. He’s an insecure 70-year-old man-baby. That’s why he’s mocked, Sean.
