I know there have been multiple player appreciation threads lately, but I felt Mourinho deserved one today. One former player must be excited about today's performance and result: Paul Scholes.
Mourinho "went for it" today. He takes some flack for being too defensive, but today he showed his ability to adapt immediately. He broke from his comfort zone by going three at the back. He made three solid substitutions that all had a positive impact. Mkhi even finished the match at LB. But the best part was that he didn't instruct the team to sit back once Martial had equalized. He went for the win. The team kept Boro pegged back in their own end and you could feel that a winner was coming imminently. I think it's been a while since United have played with that kind of confidence, and it was great to see.
