I don't have a good answer to the overall question, but with regards to your 3rd point, do we really know he has a good attitude based on instagram workout posts? I mean, keeping fit is the bare minimum you'd expect of a professional footballer. His attitude in the face of adversity might've been terrible even if he hit the gym twice a day

There's nothing to suggest he had a poor attitude either.

Yes exactly, there is not much to go on, but whatever is there, we cant say its negative.

A guy who is so obsessed with his public image, you've got to think he'd be pissed on being labelled a flop.

Social media doesn't tell you everything about a person. You just see what they want you to see.

I really don't get how his attitude is great because he's posted some workout videos. I keep seeing this comment parroted on this sub but I don't get it. We don't know how Memphis' training attitude really is and we'll never know, so I choose to look at the way he presents himself on the pitch and off it, socially.

On the pitch, he is lazy. Every time he makes a mistake he looks like he's just fed up, playing for us looks like a chore for him, not something he's passionate about. Two managers (and an assistant) haven't isolated him for no reason, they've seen something that doesn't paint the lad in a good light.

Off the pitch, from day one he's been a bit of an ego. Don't get me wrong I'd do the exact same if I was a young, rich, good looking footballer but some players do it more than others and it's normally the ones that go the Ravel Morrison path that have the worst egos. Memphis is nowhere near as bad as Ravel but getting caught smoking shisha and being at the boxing the day before a game is also something I personally wouldn't do if I was trying to get into the bosses good books, I'd look at Mkhi and keep my head down and just force my way into the team, not resign myself to defeat.

My two cents, but I know this sub loves him so don't know how it'll be received.

Sorry to say it, he's more of an Instagram model than a footballer.

Haha, yeah.

Why did Memphis not workout?

That never happens now, does it?

I wonder if he's too slow for the PL. That's what surprised me about him, he's not that quick. Slow players can flourish in this league but they're not usually wingers. Memphis probably needs a team built around him to compensate for that lack of pace.

Simply put; the talent is there, the attitude is not.

A rich mans Januzaj

He was the main man in the Dutch league, the main man in his team and the main man from his teammates. And was expecting the same treatment when he got here, but did not get that main man treatment, and felt down when he realized he's not the main man.
