So I have a brother who is in what I call the "critical marriage window". He's been with his LTGF for close to 4 years. He had a front row seat through my divorce, I foolishly gave him the RP/never marry talk about a year ago after my acceptance phase ended. I could tell that he didn't want to believe me, so he didn't. Anyway, fast forward to this week-
LTGF graduates from uni with a mountain of debt and a Preschool Ed degree. She hasn't found a job because that degree is what every woman majors in in college around here. No demand whatsoever. She's been doing substitute teaching jobs to contribute right now.
Being the magnanimous guy I am, I offer her a job, decent pay, good hours, not very hard by my standards. Guess what she does? Declines it, "it's not really in her wheelhouse" is what she told my brother. I tell him, "huh. You'd think after looking for a job for 4 months she'd take about anything? Especially with those hefty student loan payments about to kick in." The look of sheer cognitive dissonance on his face was telling.
