Question about Memphis Depay (self.reddevils)

Hello my fellow football fans, this is an AS Roma fan writing to you.

As you might or might not have read, there are some rumours that place Memphis Depay on a transfer/loan to AS Roma.

I just wanted to know how has he been performing for you for the last year.

He hasn't taken advantage of the few chances he's been afforded unfortunately. I think a change of venue would do him a lot of good at this point, doesn't seem to be happening for him (at least right now) at United. I still think he has the talent.

Maybe he means the numerous appearances he's had where he's made next to zero impact unless you count that game against Midtjylland.

I know the "in" thing to say around here is that Memphis would perform if we gave him an extended run of games, but the truth of the matter is that he's squandered more or less every chance on the pitch he's got, all whilst displaying an awful attitude off of it as well.

He doesn't get any minutes, it's almost impossible for him to impress by the time he comes on. (The last few games he hasn't even been in the squad)

Preforming like many tagged "wonderkids;" has a lot of potential, shows flashes of it, needs confidence and consistency to kick on, but flashes aren't good enough to solidify a first team spot.

Seems his attitude mayyyy be in question as he gets pushed further out the first team (obviously only know information from media outlets and not what's ACTUALLY going on in his head).

All in all, the kids future is somewhere else but with a manager like LvG who gives game time to confidence players and who seems to do a good job of keeping youth in check, I think he could really kick on. I truly do.

He took the Dutch league by storm and when he signed for us we thought he would light up the premier league. He started many games when he first got here, but his Dutch league form never showed up in the premier league so he was sent to the bench. He's only really played well for us against small teams in Europe as he never adapted to the physicality of the premier league. Personally I think he has talent, but has the attitude that he should be handed games aka he's very lazy, must show no drive in training. When he first got here and made a mistake on the pitch he would show great frustration, as he went on and made mistakes it was almost like he had an "oh well" attitude. I think when he realizes he's not the greatest thing on earth and hits the ground running he could be a decent player. I would like to see him go on loan and see how he performs elsewhere. Probably going to get downvoted, but oh well
