Not at United.

Looking back on it now. Was it just that we were so bad at that time that he stood out?

We were bad but he was legitimately playing well, I don't know what happened with him since then

It's all in his head. He was a kid walking into the 1st team of one of the biggest clubs on the planet, and was one of its best players that season. Not everyone has a firm grasp on reality, he got carried away and thought he the second coming of Ronaldo. He failed to impress under two different managers, in two different systems in two different leagues - under managers more than willing to give youth a chance.* He's skilled and talented but he's a diva thinking everything will be given to him on a silver platter

*edit: third one didn't even give him a proper chance and sent him out on loan straight away - it says something

He only ever had about 5-10 good games which people massively overhyped because he was young and we were shit, even though his form fell off a cliff in the last few months of the Moyes season anyway.

But obviously he did play well. The biggest issue is that he got that big contract and surrounds himself with hangers on telling him how great he is and stops giving a fuck/putting in the effort needed and starts caring more about cars/clothes than football. You can file Macheda and Memphis under the same story.

A mixture of us being poor and him being really overhyped. He was exciting because of his willingness to run at defenders and his natural balance on the ball but he was never more than a good prospect an he's failed to live up to the hype since. He was nowhere near as good as Rashford when he broke through, for example.

victim of over-hype. Being called "the next Ronaldo" all the time messed up his head thinking he was already a big-shot greater than life. Several reports stating his bad attitude by several people. A little kid being over praised by our fans and this is the result.

Doubt it. Poor attitude and lack of performing well.

Nope basically no chance.

We have a manager who doesn't much care for flaky youth players and he's barely had a good games in 3 years here or elsewhere. If Martial and Rashford are struggling, Januzaj has absolutely no chance.

He's the typical young player who puts in a few performances, gets his lifechanging amount of money contract, surrounds himself with hangers on telling him how great he is and stops giving a fuck/putting in the effort needed and starts caring more about cars/clothes than football.

You can file Macheda and Memphis under the same story.

Any quotes or interviews to support the claim that the guy's attitude isn't great? I'm not saying that you're wrong, just haven't seen that being said anywhere apart from this sub

Just Google "Januzaj Tuchel" and I'm sure you'll find a bunch.

Tucchel and Moyes both criticised his attitude. I cba to find you links, google it.

I think that's a little harsh (if that's the right word) on Macheda. Januzaj clearly was/is talented, and has a shit attitude etc, as you rightly say. I don't remember hearing anything like that about Macheda, aside from that one moment of brilliance on his debut, he just didn't have the talent to make it at United. I don't think it was a case of bad attitude with him, he just wasn't good enough.

Maybe I missed a case of his poor attitude though.

I think his attitude has been all wrong, he will most likely be sold.

He was injured for most of his loan so far.

Doesn't look great though, has good moments but drifts in and out of the game from what i've seen.

Hasn't he been injured for Sunderland? I thought when he first joined he was turning in above average performances. Anyone who knows more care to shed light in this situation?

Not here. He'll do well at a mid- low-level club when he gets his head straight.

No. He's not even managing to shine at Sunderland.

It's over

He can't even get games at Sunderland with a manager who loves him

No - massively over hyped. Doesn't work hard enough. Was never that fast but had a few tricks that won us a few points. He just another Ravel

[–]parton90Football, bloody hell!

He's nowhere near the same amount of raw talent that Ravel had

[–]WszystkoZajete20 times, 20 times Man United! 0

He just another Ravel

I don't think you saw Ravel play. First team players used to go to the academy ground just to watch him play. Januzaj was nowhere near him.
